One of those strange things that make you laugh.

So I'm driving to work yesterday morning in "sunny" San Diego. Except it's not sunny. In fact it's raining, and raining hard. Water is coming down in sheets. I've got my wipers on high, a coat of Rain-X on my windshield, the defroster on full blast....and I still can't see sh*t. Traffic has slowed to ~30 MPH and half the people have their hazard lights on. I'm just trying to stay in my lane. There's so much water, my car is hydroplaning left and right. So what strange thing did I see?

It's been said by many on Miata boards that if you keep your speed above 40mph, the occupant area of the converible will stay more or less dry. You just need to hope you don't hit a traffic jam or red light.

Exactly. That's what I think is lame about this whole thing. Two hands on the wheel for beginners.

I ride a motorcycle in the rain all the time, no problem if you have the right gear

The dude in the convertable is funny though

Someone that I work with has had their car window down in the parking lot 2 days in a row now during the rain. I can only assume the window is broken at this point (the car has changed spaces and the rain has been fairly solid).

I would at least put some plastic over it.

I have ridden in the rain quite a bit myself, but the pics above indicate something more along the lines of a tsunami than a simple shower...
