So PartyPoker puts $15 in my account

...and I get it up to $30, I actually hit a boat on the river 2 hands in the row, both involving queens and low cards.... and then the badness happened... I had 2 pair, they had higher 2 pair, I had straights, they have flushes... I had flushes, they had boats... I got out while the getting was good with about $8 left of the $15.

Those .5/1 tables on PartyPoker are harsh mistresses....

For the record, this is why I like SnG's A LOT and dislike ring games.

I also got the same bonus put into my Party account. Unfortunately, I quickly lost it after winning a few hands.

While I don't think their site or Empire Poker's site is rigged, I seem to have the worst luck playing there. It's not so much that the players are better, it just seem like I get beat on the river with some unimaginable hands. On the flip side, I have been dealt AA quite a few times, however they have been cracked more times than not.

Yeah. The only way I'm playing a ring game again is with a hard and fast rule about when to get out. I'm thinking something like when I get to double my buy in, then I go down a quarter of my Buy in, GET OUT. I was getting some great hands and losing lots of money doing it.

I've been having a lot of fun on the $2 2 table Pacific Poker SnG's, ring games I never get out in time.

they are real bastards about letting you cash that money out.

as for liking SNG over ring games... SNG are easier to win if you aren't the best player at the table... in ring games normally the better players will + and the worse players will - over a few hours. note i said normally

Iím with you on that. At least for online, low stakes games.

Itís been a while since Iíve played one, but the 4/8 game on UB is usually filled with fairly solid players. This fits in with the common litany that good players will win and bad players will lose.

But I renew my objection to the belief that this is true at low limits. Time and again I see good players get their asses kicked because there is just no skill involved.

Iíve played a number of casino tournaments at the $25, $50, $100, and $200 levels. Granted, tourneys are different from ring games, but the level of play increases accordingly. Thereís not much difference between a $25 rebuy tourney and a 2/4 table.

Yeah, I found $15 bucks in my account as well, so I was playing .5/1 omaha hilo for awhile. I was up to about $30, but then played too many hands. I left the table with enough to play a $5+1 SNG.

oh well, easy come easy go.
