Police: Girl Also Attempted To Use Bat, BB Gun

POSTED: 1:48 pm PDT October 7, 2004

LOS ANGELES -- An 11-year-old girl allegedly attacked her baby sitter with a machete at the end of a violent struggle that included attempts by the youngster to grab a baseball bat, a shovel and a BB gun.

The 34-year-old sitter telephoned deputies at 5:57 p.m. Tuesday after locking herself in the bathroom of a Mojave Desert home, Sgt. Doug Hubbard of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said. The sitter's name was not released.

Investigators said the woman was baby-sitting an 11-year-old girl and her 12-year-old sister while their mother was at work.

The 11-year-old and the sitter argued over feeding a dog at the home, and the girl began to beat and then choke the animal, Hubbard said. The baby sitter attempted to pry the girl off of the dog and the girl began hitting the woman, Hubbard said.

The scuffle then moved to the front yard, where the girl grabbed a small shovel and then a baseball bat and attempted to attack the woman, the sergeant said. The girl then found a BB gun and the woman managed to get it away from the girl, he said.

The altercation continued until the girl found a machete lying in the yard and began to chase the woman, who managed to grab the girl's sister and lock them both in the home's bathroom, Hubbard said.

The girl fled on a bicycle but was arrested an hour later. She was booked for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon at the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Facility in Apple Valley, Hubbard said.

I swear folks, I don't make these up!

Haven't there been several machete attacks over the past year or so? Where are people getting all of these machetes? Did Machetes'R'Us have an overstock sale?

I love how non-chalantly that piece is reported...where the hell did this take place?

Well there are currently two hypotheses:

She either

1) Saw her babysitter engaging in premarital sex which reminded her of her older sister having premarital sex on Halloween.

or

2) Saw her mother get decapitated after comitting a 24 hour killing spree to avenge her "drowning" several years ago - which it seems never actually happened - and wants to avenge her death.

Here's an artist rendering of the girl:

It is recommended that if you are in a twenty mile radius of her, don't engage in sex, drugs, or horror movie watching. Unless of course you are the last one of your group of friends left alive and are female in which case police recommend using a nearby hazard as a weapon (i.e. a steamroller, fire, lightning bolt, rocket launcher, etc. anything really big and crazy really)

I third (or fourth) the question about where these people live.

I guarantee I could wander for 10 square miles around my house and not find one machete in someones yard.

Okay, I did a little searching and came up with this.

Girl, 11, allegedly attacks babysitter with machete

BARSTOW, Calif. An 11-year-old Barstow girl is arrested after she allegedly chased her babysitter with a machete.

Authorities say the girl and her sitter argued Tuesday about feeding a dog and the girl began to beat and choke the animal.

When the babysitter intervened, authorities claim the youngster hit the woman. The scuffle moved to the front yard, where the girl allegedly tried to attack the babysitter with a shovel, baseball bat and B-B gun.

Authorities claim she also chased the woman with a machete. The babysitter locked herself and the girl's 12-year-old sister in a bathroom and called authorities.

The 11-year-old girl fled on a bicycle but was arrested an hour later. She was booked for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon at a juvenile detention center.

If I'm not mistaken, Barstow is about halfway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas on the 15.

It's obvious to me why she picked up a machete, the bloody axe was still stuck hard in the half-buried head of the last baby-sitter
