How many of you own an Ipass?

I just bought an Ipass about a month ago and it's been great not stopping for tolls. How many of you own one or do you just prefer stoping for tolls?

I don't know where you're from, but it sounds like you're describing EZPass (north-east US). I've got one for every car, love them.

Fuck the Ipass. Fuck Illinois and Fuck toll booths. I drove to Chicago a month ago and I swear it cost me about 10 bucks both ways. Fuck that. Especially in Chicago and it's suburbs. Damn toll booth every two miles. You go from 80 mph to zero and then back to 80 then to zero and back to...... Screw that. I can't see how it could be a good thing. Driving to work in Chicago must really suck.

Tolls? They're called freeways 'cause they're free, right? Michigan has no toll roads (some bridges have tolls though)

It's called a FasTrakô. It's good, but I hate how idiots get in the fastrak lane then jams the break within 25 of the toll booth and tries to get back into the paid lanes.

even worse is the regular people in the regular lanes who refuse to let the idiots back into the right lane.

look asshole, you're already going to be waiting a while to get to the toll booth, what's a couple more seconds to you that you'll tie up the superior people who want to zip right through. fuck you.

ditto.. I cannot believe how many people still don't have them...

the only argument I have heard against them is the 'big brother' one about them knowing your travel patterns.. makes me wonder why people are worried about that..

Only one toll road in Atlanta (and only a toll in one spot on it) and it is not convenient enough for me to want to pay fifty cents to use it, so I just avoid it. I honestly think that it's pretty silly to have a cruise card here... but I guess some people think that highway 400 (the toll road) is a good thing.

I don't see how states don't have tolls cuz it's a great source of revenue for the state. They even issue Revenue Municipal Bonds based on tolls I think.

As OldDude said, the only things in Michigan we pay for are tolls to cross the bridge or tunnel into and out of Canada.
And to cross the Mackinaw bridge between the upper and lower peninsula.

I would be all for tolls on our freeways if the roads would be kept in better repair.

We have to have some of the worst roads in the country. Every summer they close portions of freeways at a time and "fix" the roads. Only to have the winter come and then we have all the same pothole and cracked roads again that they fix in the summer to have become crappy in the winter.

Lather.Rinse.Repeat.

The past 4 years, I have gone through 5 windshields in 2 vehicles because of potholes and chuncks of concreate that get kicked up and hit my windshield. It happens in the winter too beacuse the outside temperature is cold. Inside my vehicle is warm and all that seperate the two temperatures is a piece of glass.

I'm still shocked that Detroit is trying for the Superbowl in 2006, or did we actually get it? Its going to be a nightmare around here with the crappy roads and poorly planed freeways and roads we have. I think I'll just stay home during that time and not travel very far.

It's a different world here in Arizona... a lot more rural than NYC, with population more spread out. If there's only one freeway linking two large areas, a toll would NEVER go over well.

As for the bridges, there really isn't any significant body of water down here so there aren't too many bridges needed... no bridges = no need for toll bridges...

but we have plenty of rattlesnakes!

The EZPass is a lifesaver if you drive into Philadelphia or pretty much anywhere else in the Northeast. I love getting to the toll area - 25 booths with lines of 50 cars each and I zoosh! right through the 8 open EZPass lanes. Seeya SUCKERS!

I have one. They need more IPass Express (non-gated) lanes here in Chicago, they're becoming so popular that it's actually faster in rush hour to go through the gated lanes.
