Not completely sure about the truth, but I once asked a bank teller how long you had to keep a check before you could be *positive* that it was not a scam or a fake. She told me that the bank can deny it at least several months later. Anyone know for sure?

Still doing lots of research.

Yeah, I'm psyched. Currently getting things ready in the room. I am decided on the X1 and a 4:3 screen that is 100' diagonally.

The amazing thing is that besides the room prep, the actual system with screen, projector, mounts, etc. will cost only about $1500 (not counting computer, either)

Looks like these things are still out there; just got this e-mail (way to go, state e-mail servers -- it wasn't even addressed to me or anyone in my agency ):

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please do not feel disturbed by my mail, for I only
seek your assistance. My name is martin okoro, the auditor
and computing staff of a bank here in Nigeria.

There is an account opened in this bank in 1995 and
since 2001 the account has been static, but after going
through some old files in the records,I realised that
this account will soon be rendered forfeit. So I
summoned the courage to look for someone like you to
help remit the money safely into another account as
urgent as possible.

The owner of this account, Mr. patrick
a foreigner and the manager of a petrochemical
service company here in Nigeria, and a chemical
engineer by profession, died since 1995.And since
2001,nobody has operated the account and i'm sure
no one else knows anything about it.The account has no
other beneficiary and my investigation proved to me as
well that his company does not know anything about
this account and the amount involved is
(26,000,000.00) dollars.

I am contacting you so you will help me transfer the
money(twenty six million dollars) into a foreign
acount. And because of the need to involve a foreigner
with a foreign account as the real beneficiary.
I need your co-operation to make this work fine, because the
management is ready to approve this payment to any
foreigner who has the correct information to this
account which I will give to you during the transaction once i am sure of your
capability to handle such amount in strict confidence
and trust according to my instructions and my advice
for our mutual benefit because I don't want to make
any mistake.

I shall destroy all documents concerning this
transaction immediately we received this money leaving
no trace to any place.I will use my position and
influence to effect the legal approvals and onward transfer of this money to your account with appropriate clearance from foreign
payment department. With assurance that this money
will be intact pending my physical arrival to your
country for the sharing and other investment.

I shall await your urgent response.
Thanks,
martin okoro

just curious why you would use a 16:9 screen with a 4:3 projector.
