Got a summons today from the Health Dept. for having an unlicensed cat

So this morning my wife and I are going about our routine when we hear people talking outside in front of our house.

There are two women on our front walk and I hear one say to the other, "Ok, underline CATS"

My wife goes to the door to check em' out and it turns out that they work for the town Health Dept. They saw one of our cats lying in the window and issued us a summons which says we must license our cat within 72 hours.

So with everything else we got going on in the world and around here, we have people walking around neighborhoods trying to spot unlicensed cats?!?

Our cats don't go outside. I'm not licensing my cats. They can KMA.

Who the hell licenses their cats? I've never heard of such a thing.

Too bad the health department doesn't have better things to do, like making sure the flunkie at McDonalds doesn't spit in my burger.

You can always say that they belonged to a friend of yours, and have left. I don't advocate lying to the town's health department.

Licensing = $$$ for the city, of course.

You should have whipped out a shotgun and told them to get off your property.

Seriously, nobody licenses cats.

Ive heard of this before actually but I thought it was only for cats that go outdoor. It's flurking stupid, they beg us to adopt pets and then come back saying 'you gotta pay to license it'.

In 4 years you'll get your renewal notice and remember, you can't use the same picture if over 7 years old.

Well the Colt AR was closer but you are right, the sound of me racking the Remmy would have sent those pesky health inspectors scurrying.

Here's two of the offending individuals now.

Stupid cats. Usually all they ever do is sleep.

Take a stray cat in a carrier and drop him off the health department with the citation. Let him lose in the main office. Let them know that he is their problem now, wish them a good day and leave.

I want to see what the cat license looks out. I've heard it's just a dog license with the word 'dog' crossed out and 'cat' written in in crayon.
