Project Management Forums ?

Hi All,

Does anyone know if any Project Management forums exist out there? I'm looking to learn more and bounce ideas off of project managers and get PMP certification.

I've done several google searches and haven't found anything...

Thanks

You don't need certification to be a PMP, bitch!

I've got a PMI certification, and guess what? One of our cars is an Eclipse. :)

Anyway, I'd be glad to help with any questions or discussion you might want.

Are you just looking to learn more about the latest and greatest info or looking for resume type stuff?

The PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge book) is the industry standard for project managers. It covers cost/risk/people management and beyond.

The certification doesn't really get you much on a resume, if that is what you are looking for. Just a mention of PMI experience on a resume usually is enough to get to talking about it in an interview.

The Cow, thanks for the reply. I'm looking to actually check out PM forums so I can get used to the lingo that is used in other industries other than software development.

I know project management is essential in other projects like construction and other fields and I'd like to know more about this.

I'd like to get the certification because it carrys quite some weight at my company. I actually dont' have enough PM years of exp. so I'll be going for my CAPM at the end of the year.

I've already looked into the PMBOK and joined a study group - if you have any other suggestions that would be greatly appreciated
