Friggin' telephone pollsters!

Friday night during dinner, a computerized poll called us during dinner time. We hung up. So it called us again during dinner on Sunday.

It's only two questions.

If the election were held right now, who would you vote for?
Press 1 for Kerry.
Press 2 for Bush.

Mrs Danger presses 0.

If you selected Kerry, why did you choose him?
To support the Democratic Party ticket press 1.
To defeat Bush press 2 .

Mrs Danger hangs up.

I can't think of a way for that poll to be more insulting to my intelligence.

That is a ridiculous poll and I haven't gotten that many since the Do Not Call List started. Does that not cover this sort of call?

Some guy called me yesterday (cell) trying to get me to gamble on some site. He was telling me about all the ways I could win on baseball. That was new to me.

The Do Not Call list doesn't cover pollsters, charities, or politicians.

Since New Mexico is a swing state, the politicians' computers have been calling all the time.

Just reply with the opposite of your true opinions. If everyone does that, the polls will be worthless, the pollsters will go bankrupt, and everybody will be happier.

Personally, I *want* the polls to reflect that my guy is behind. The bigger the false margin, the more likely that voters for the other guy will stay home and make my vote count all that much more.

Oh, then I guess it's good that I live in Texas where the election is all wrapped up.

NY state, in spite of it's corpse-like economy, still gives unwavering support to the DNC. The vote here is a dead-lock for them.

Even so, I've gotten this very same call at least 4X in the last month. On an unlisted number registered with the 'do not call' registry, and anonymous call rejection.
