If you would have said Texas Tech you'd have been right.

Interesting distinction. I'll concede to whatever the majority decides. I figured this one would be challenged.

Re: DVDTalk (Reverse) Sheep 2009 — The Year in Revue

I could've sworn I said coach.

My answer is therefore wrong.

As are any answers that are simply the names of universities.

Throw it out! Or count the universities as correct (assuming that the university in question is Division I and did, in fact, lose a coach).

Stewart and Colbert both do comedy sketches and celebrity interviews

Hey! I'm counting on the guaranteed -1 point to vault me into (fingers crossed) 11th place.

I think we'll come back to this question and let you guys discuss it for a while. I'm almost in favor of throwing it out.

You might say that the entire premise Colbert's show is a sketch.
And taken on the whole, they both feature "celebrity" interviews pretty rarely.

Very simply, do this:
Take every show on TV that self-identifies as a talk show.
Consider the commonalities of features and formats.
Now compare that to what Stewart and Colbert" shows present.

Spoiler:
It is not the same.

Question 19. S: Aside from President Obama, name a politician that made headlines.

I say if the school that was mentioned lost a coach, it should be right (as the question was written).

(for the record, my answer was Boston College, but I meant the football team)

Most late night talk shows that I watch start with a monologue about current events, followed by some comedy sketch, followed by an interview of some celebrity (usually promoting something). This definition fits Colbert/Daily Show perfectly.

If you asked Tarantino to name a team in the ACC and he said "Boston College," would you respond with "I asked you to name a TEAM"?

Well, for one thing, the majority of the time spent on Talk Shows is devoted to the presentation of guests.
That is not the case with Colbert/Daily.

Second, Colbert doesn't usually, and Stewart very rarely has CELEBRITY guests.

The point is that the overwhelming majority of programming time on self-identified TALK SHOWS (any time of day) is devoted to the presentation of guests from the entertainment industry.
That doesn't not describe Colbert and Stewart.

I might know what he meant, but strictly speaking that is the name of a school, not the name of a team.

Cleveland is not an answer to the question: Name a professional sports team?
