How is CNN not a network?

Have you been to Manny's (on the corner of Roosevelt and Jefferson)? I grew up on the east coast in a large Jewish family and Manny's is better than any other deli I've ever eaten at.

The images were fun to gather. My favorite was finding a picture of John Edwards holding a baby and making a bastardy joke out of it.

Ah, bastard jokes. Almost funny as often as classicman is old jokes.

I gave brief thought to including classicman as a player and giving him really bad old-people answers like "Hadrian" as a general and "Amalgamated Rock and Stick" as a defense contractor. But that seemed like it would be way too much work.

His indignation at his name being used against his wishes would have been worth it

Television network implies there are television stations owned by the network which broadcast the content. CNN is a single entity and not a network at all. Not by the traditional definition at least.

Re: Politics Sheep: 4th Term

But it was a sheep question so you should have assumed the common usage of the term...as also evidenced by the Haliburton answer

Even if it was a reverse sheep question, answering CNN would have to be considered a correct answer. I think you're way overthinking.

I would consider "Cable News Network" to be a network.

I think 4 of us did.

Sure, if you totally disregard what a television network is and give in to the marketing and branding of a cable station which is not a network.

Re: Politics Sheep: 4th Term

Can you imagine the shitstorm fight if that was a reverse sheep question and Jason did not allow CNN as a right answer?

One thing that occurred to me last night on the last question, is how many people thought of both Hamilton and Franklin, thought Hamilton was a better answer but chose Franklin as the better sheep answer? I know one person said they did. If a few people did, imagine if they had all chosen what they thought the correct answer was; it would have made Hamilton the better sheep answer too.

A shitstorm would be nothing new with these.

See Borg, shitstorm over species disqualification.

Re: Politics Sheep: 4th Term

The network question came up in another game before. Obviously, most of our members are from the post-cable generations.

Re: Politics Sheep: 4th Term

And people think I dragged out General Patton.

I am of the pre-cable generation and have no issues with calling CNN a network.
