I was in a hurry and i'm pretty sure i messed up that one.

I can think of two off the top of my head though so I could see multiple answers

I could only think of two but one's 'newsworthy' days seem to be behind him.

I almost went with Joseph Gurney Cannon but I decided to go with Gingrich instead for exactly the reason you just posted.

(Just kidding about Cannon)

This was the toughest one for me. Mandela is the obvious choice, but as he is no longer a head of state he is a wrong answer. Has there been a current head of state in the news recently?

Re: Politics & World Events Sheep, Round 1 — A Forum Game

My guess for top two answers would be #1 Mugabe, #2 al-Gaddafi
I guess Mubarak too but I could barely remember his name.

It'd be interesting to do one of these with factual questions (e.g. Who is the current head of state of South Africa?) but you still answer what you think the most people would say.

I picked one who has recently been a guest on the Daily Show. It doesn't get more newsworthy than that!

Spoiler:
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, bitches!

Qadaffi may get a few votes, although when people think "Africa" they tend to think "Sub-Saharan Africa" so maybe not.

Forgot about old Gaddafi. He hasn't barked much lately.

I thought Mugabe would be the popular choice because of the election and cholera outbreak, etc. For any question, I just picked an answer that had it's own thread here recently since I figured that will be most fresh in everyone's memory.

What did everyone put for European country on the wrong track? 'Wrong track' is kind of a vague qualifier, so I didn't really know what people would look for.

I chose Ireland because their economy is in greater shambles than most others.

Did you mean Iceland?

Just curious.

And I can't imagine that Red Dog's answer won't win that question.

The only right answer to that question is France. Maybe Canada because they still have a queen, speak French and are afraid of the dark...No, no, only France.

I picked France because that is what I assumed most people would pick

Well, I considered Iceland but settled on Ireland.

I should have known everyone would chose France.

But is France on a different track than they've been?

I answered the UK.

Track doesn't matter. The forum will pick France (my guess at least).

Yes, I picked France because people on this forum (most of whom have never been there) are constantly criticizing it as some sort of hellhole.

Who did you guys pick for the thinker question? Machiavelli, Hobbes/Kant/Locke, Paine, or one of the Russians?

Or none of the above?

I, too, picked France because France-bashing is never unpopular.

Are we going to have figured out the final scores before the Bus gets back from his long weekend?
