Triumph-2026 Tour!!
Well, now that I have spent a stupid amount of money on my Rush tickets, my other favorite Canadian power trio is back!! Well, it's kind of a hybrid lineup, but I'll still catch the Houston show,

Re: Triumph-2026 Tour!!
Not a Triumph fan but glad they are remembered. Magic Power, Lay It On The Line, Fight The Good Fight, and Hold On were FM staples around here. Great songs you never hear anymore. I bought Allied Forces when it first came out but have never gotten into any of their other songs.
Same with April Wine. I Like To Rock and Roller and good songs that got heavy FM play. When I heard Sign of The Gypsy Queen (fantastic song) on the radio, I ran out and bought Nature of The Beast. Outside of All Over Town and Just Between You and Me couldn't get into them. |
Re: Triumph-2026 Tour!!
Notice they end their tour the same weekend as the start of Rush's tour. Sad that they do not have any west coast dates, but not surprised. Rik has played Texas a few times for his solo gigs before he stopped touring in 2019. Looking at weekend dates if I need to take a trip to see them.
I was a big Triumph fan. My nickname is Gil because of Gil Moore (I could sing and play drums). I missed seeing them during the Never Surrender tour. I had tickets to their Long Beach Arena show, but it also happened to be the playoffs for my high school basketball team and we ended watching that game instead (Our star player, Darrick Martin, scored 43pts in a win. He went on to play for UCLA and the LA Clippers.) |

I'll be headed to the Detroit show unless tickets are outrageous. I'm also a big fan and pretty excited for this. Saw them a few times back in the 80s, and I saw a small show (a couple hundred people tops) with Rik Emmett (with Dave Dunlop) a couple years ago, and got to meet him a bit. He's a good storyteller and seems like a pretty decent guy. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...667ba26f16.jpg |
Re: Triumph-2026 Tour!!
I wonder if they'd add cities depending on how Rik feels? He is dealing with arthritis and underwent treatment for prostate cancer last year. A friend in Toronto did get me a copy of his solo RES9 cd signed by him. Alex Lifeson played on it as well as Mike and Gil were on that album.

Never surrender!
I saw them once in the late 80s, but I rarely think of them. Hope the tour does well, though. |
Re: Triumph-2026 Tour!!
Prices look reasonable. About 1/3 of what Rush tickets were going for.

Re: Triumph-2026 Tour!!
yeah, I picked up my ticket. There was pretty good demand, I was 500+ in the queue for a smallish venue, so nothing left once I got in, but I waited for tickets to time out of people's carts, and was able to snag 4th row for $147 ($108+fees) which was reasonable enough for me. The venue is seated, so it'll be a change for me to arrive closer to the show time and not have to deal with trying to get up close for my normal GA shows.

Re: Triumph-2026 Tour!!
Well, couldn't resist as they were one of my all-time regrets for not having seen them live. It's a medium sized venue here in Houston with all facing forward seats and great acoustics.
They posted additional clarification on the tour: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...1ef8be5353.png |
Re: Triumph-2026 Tour!!
Here's Rik and Phil X from a couple months ago. Sounds like Phil and Rik will be doing a lot of collab on the singing and guitars. Those 2 sound pretty damn good together to me.
