Oasis Reunion 2025?

When I first saw this story come across my Twitter timeline, I just called BS. But now that I see it more and more, and it looks to be legit (with possible official announcement tomorrow). 10 nights in Wembley would be enormous. I'd love it if they did a world tour and came to the US -- but that would have to be after the UK tour, if it goes well enough, and they don't try to kill each other first. It's so dumb that these two brothers have feuded for so long (and left SO MUCH MONEY on the table as a result).

Liam Gallagher Appears To Confirm Oasis Reunion, 15 Years After Warring Brothers Split Up

https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...772cf1d145.pngLiam Gallagher, one half of the warring brothers at the centre of one of the UK’s most successful ever bands, appears to have confirmed the spinning rumours of an Oasis reunion next summer.

Following reports in the UK press of a thaw in relations between Liam and https://deadline.com/tag/noel-gallagher/ and an estimated 20 gigs in two cities next year,

The Times newspaper reports that industry insiders are convinced the band will reform, with today’s reports coming 15 years after they played their last gig at the V Festival in the UK in 2009.

Reports are that the Wonderwall and Live Forever hitmakers will play Heaton Park in Manchester and Wembley Stadium in London, with whispers of a Glastonbury headliner slot to boot.

Oasis, including frontman Liam and guitarist-songwriter Noel, formed in 1991, and took the UK charts by storm in the late 1990s, during which they spearheaded the era of “Britpop” when homegrown bands dominated the charts. Their first album Definitely Maybe became the fastest selling ever debut album, and their second album 1995 (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? secured their status as the UK’s biggest rock stars. 30 years later and their popularity remains undimmed with 21million listers on Spotify.

The brothers’ always tumultuous relationship came to a head in 2009, when they had a physical fight before a concert in Paris, and Noel quit the band. They have not performed together since, but Liam just finished a tour with his band, during which he performed Definitely Maybe to a rapturous reception. He has always apparently been the keener of the two to reunite on stage, but Noel appears to have belatedly agreed, with speculation that his expensive divorce last year contributing to his thought process. Whatever the reason behind the reunion, if and when the rumours are confirmed, Oasis back together on stage is expected to be the event of the summer. Taylor Swift may have owned 2024, but it will be Britpop take two for 2025.

Would love to see it but wary this is just a teaser for next year when WTSMG album's 30th anniversary hits. There is a lot money they could make with a limited tour.

Until Noel chimes in I'd not buying it. They canceled a show in Charlotte (1996) two hours before showtime (and then the whole tour) because Liam was being an arse. We had driven three hours to get there. Liam's been trying to do this for years but Noel's been a hell no! Noel toured the US last year with Garbage and the turnout was middling. His UK/European legs were better. He really must need the payday. Did manage to see them in Fairfax a couple of years later. Surprisingly very good live.

Maybe the only time in the past five years Matty Healy was totally sober and 100% right :

Saw them in 1994 at the Metro in Chicago (when Liam had a row with Noel and stormed off, leaving Noel to sing the encores) and then again at the Vic in Chicago in 1995. Doubt I'd bother forking out a shitload of cash for a large venue.

The Oasis reunion tour getting announced almost exactly five years after Noel Gallagher said he was five years away from acquiring the Oasis masters and being able to “sell my songs to the highest bidder” is a really amazing detail in all of this. ( coupled with the 20 Million for Noel's divorce. )

And honestly the concerts would be a mess, 50 year old English guys pretending they are 20, high on coke and boozed off their face, no way I'd go to that.

Do people still care? I know it's not both of them together, but I saw Noel and Garbage last summer, at a 15,000 seat amphitheater, and the lawn was completely empty and open seats all over the pavilion. I also bought the tickets with the $25 all in summer deal and they were not difficult to get and they were pretty decent pavilion seats (usually you can only get lawn in those deals).

I like a lot of their music and did like some of Noel's High Flying Birds stuff (saw him a couple times). I doubt I'd shell out any money to see them any more though. Will wait and see how genuine of a reunion it feels like.

You can get ticket insurance for most any reason these days. Does it include the Gallagher Brothers fighting each other onstage? It's unfortunate how hard they appear to have worked for their personal issues to be a monumental shadow looming over their musical legacy.

I say three shows before the entire thing implodes and the tour is cancelled.

Re: Oasis Reunion 2025?

Don't think ticket insurance would cover flights and hotels in England . All I've seen mentioned so far are shows in Manchester and 10 nights in London.

Both have been touring musicians for the last two decades. It's not as is they are coming out of retirement or anything. Liam's got a decently popular run as an Oasis cover band mixed with same original stuff. Noel had an album out last year that I really like. If Cream could do it I guess it's not too big a leap. They might sing about "Cigarettes & Alcohol" but this is "Money, Money, Money!" If it pans out I'll make a trip of it. I can go visit my grandma and the family so if/when it's shutdown it's fine for me.

If it was last summer in the US, it would have been a hit with all the free following money. They will sellout Manchester and Wembly each night. I could see them do a limited arena tour of the US in the major cities (NYC, LA, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, etc).

Football stadiums. I think that's too big since they're a 2-song wonder when it comes to US airplay, but these locations are so spread out the band is obviously expecting fans to travel from other cities (so Chicago is not just local ticket sales, but sales from the entire midwest).

45 minutes to the general sale.
Two sites handling the sale.
Gigsandtours site is getting hammered. Ticketmaster seems OK.

This looks like it might be a mess.

EDIT1: Twenty minutes to go and Ticketmaster has gone to crap too.

EDIT2: Suddenly TM site not shite. 666 in Queue at 4am. G&T still endless refresh loop.

EDIT3: In and out: Level 200 row 40. Pitch tickets were cheaper but it's all GA for the entire field. Nope. I'm all for GA but not festival style in an enclosed stadium.

EDIT4: Messaging with my UK cousins. Apparently I was lucky and slipped in with the early queue. It's still currently a cluster Eras tour style.

I will likely have to make the trek to New Jersey and I don't live anywhere near that state. I wonder if they add more locations/dates if tickets completely sell out here in the US.

Oasis is also huge in Japan. They could do a limited engagement there if Noel needs the money.

I think the entire UK and Ireland were introduced to the world of dynamic pricing vis-à-vis Platinum Pricing. It took them all by surprise.

Perry’s been spiraling the last few weeks. He came out drunk in Raleigh, 2/3 into the set he came down into the crowd and smoked a joint with us but he made it through the set. Apparently it was a train wreck at the first NYC show but better the second
