Crooner and sometimes actor Steve Lawrence dead at 88

I’m familiar with Lawrence, but I can’t say I’m a fan. Not a fan of his type of music.

I have seen a few of his appearances as an actor.

I thought he died years ago.

He had a Billboard Top 40 #1 hit in 1962 with "Go Away Little Girl" which would probably rankle some feathers now with the "little girl" line. Impressively, he had a total of 11 Top 40 hits of which 5 were in the Top 10!

Me as well, but I'm sure I got him confused with another entertainer.

I immediately thought of Pretty In Pink when I saw this post.

He and his wife were on Carol Burnett all the time.

The in-laws were fans of Steve and Eydie back in the day. I don’t think I ever saw them perform, though.

First time I heard him I thought he was a Sinatra impersonator/parody. Mostly familiar with the Christmas album he did with his wife.

Didn't know he passed. I remember him from lots of 70's tv.

I remember watching him and his wife perform on what seemed to be a lot of shows as a kid in the 70's. RIP.
