SHIT! I have tickets for Sick New World when they will be in my area. I have missed them to date and they are my favorite of all time. I will have to figure something out for this tour.

Aww, me too! It doesn't really look like I've got a good alternative choice other than an extra trip somewhere - Austin or CA maybe. I've seen them plenty, but I'd love to see them again and hear some new material.

The show I saw last year was soooo good. It was only around €90 too. I'm going to guess prices in the US will be much more.

Gonna try for Houston. I love bands that do long shows, especially when they have such an extensive catalog.

Man I wish they were coming to Vegas. These shows were announced for dates too soon for me to arrange travel. And besides, I'd never go to LA to see a show at the Hollywood Bowl. I hate that venue so much. Bad seats there are among the worst seats you could have at any venue in the US.

Completely agree, what a nightmare to get in and out of the bowl. Especially after sitting through a 3 hour Cure live show watching Robert stand there w/guitar on a screen.

Because if you're not sleepy after that, something is seriously wrong.

I'm not a huge fan of The Cure, but definitely appreciate that they play for 3 hours a night. It's such a drag seeing a band that has decades of releases only play for an hour and a half.

Catching the show in Denver.

I have an open invitation to stay with my cousin and his husband who live in Denver, and they can take us to all of the best weed shops before the show.

I hope you're either in the seated section of Fiddler's Green or you have a lot of weed. The lawn at Fiddler's Green is abysmal. Frankly, the rest of Fiddler's Green isn't all that great either.

I'm waitlisted, so out of luck. Hard to tell if they would squeeze a second show in Chicago in the open day before.

I'm also waitlisted. My third verified fan attempt for shows this summer and my third waitlist.

I think I liked the old days of standing in line better.

This brings back some fond memories from my teenage days. Back then, there were ticket agencies in some of the Woodwards stores. One of those stores opened a half hour before the other ones did so my friends & I would ride our bikes the 12 kms (7.5 miles) or so to it and camp out in line overnight with all of the other fans who were doing the same. We did this for Dire Straits and also Supertramp. Someone in the crowd rolled his car windows down at about 3AM and blasted Supertramp tunes for everyone during the latter one. Then pooling whatever money we had left over and grabbing some donuts for breakfast across the street before riding back home. 15,16 years old. Great times ...

How so?

I was there once, about seven/eight years ago. (Seeing The Cure, no less!)

Can't say it was bad experience, and didn't seem any better or worse than any other "lawn" seating I've had at show. I'll be getting seats this time, though.

Sound is poor, facing the sun impedes viewing, even then it's a long way to the stage to see what's happening. Maybe it is the same as other venues with this kind of seating, but as far as Denver is concerned, it's my most hated venue. I'm far from alone with this sentiment, too.

I got wait listed and so far did not get a spot. I am loving their pricing and non reselling measures, but hate I could not get tickets. There is talk about adding shows, so maybe some will open up.

And this is what happens when Ticketmaster is allowed to behave like a monopoly. The Verified Fan system and their queue system is anything but random. If you’re not getting selected after a few different attempts, you’ve likely been blackballed and never will get selected. There’s a reason there’s a black market for old Ticketmaster accounts that do get selected for these.

I am not sure I believe that at all. Tickets are limited and in high demand. I didn't get selected for Adele, Beyonce or Taylor Swift but it's not because TM has anything against me, it was just three very in-demand shows.
.Are there banned accounts? Sure. But plenty of High priority accounts also miss out for these high demand shows. Especially when the tickets are so cheap for The Cure.

Re: The Cure - 2023 North American Tour

But you've been selected for other shows, have you not? I don't know which shows Obi has been applying for and if they're all at the top of the demand pyramid, then it's possible. But if a couple of those are middle of the road shows and he's not getting selected, his account score is too low and he's not going to get selected for anything. At no point in the process is it "random" as Ticketmaster wants you to believe, and there’s zero transparency into the process for people to know any better.

Re: The Cure - 2023 North American Tour

Registered for verified fan and got my code the night before. Was in the waiting room 10 minutes before and then to the queue. Logged in and then tried to jump on floor seats. Every time I chose one, spinning, going to a frozen blank checkout page. Kicked out and then had to get back in queue a couple of times. Finally got back in and seats were popping up and disappearing, was a real-tine whack a mole. Finally one popped up in the 17th row on the floor and I jumped on it. Got to check out and will be seeing them June 1 in Seattle. Been a couple of years so looking forward to this one.

Yeah, those are issues with most outdoor venues. Don't know why they don't build them all facing east. I generally try to avoid outdoor concerts if I can... the acoustics are usually poor, there's the sun factor (most of these will be held during summer months when the evenings are longer), and the weather is a factor, too. I'm a midwesterner, and the weather can get really crazy, too. You might get 110 degree heat, torrential rain, dangerous thunderstorms, tornadoes, etc.

It seems like The Cure prefer to play in outdoor venues, and I really don't know why.

Also seems like they should be playing in bigger places the way their tickets sell out and they jam up online ordering hen they go on sale.
