Not as impressed with new one. Something sounds off about Hetfield’s vocals and Lars does sound bored on this track. Even the solo seems uninspired. It’s almost like they wanted to capture the magic of Master of Puppet but through the lens of suicide instead of drugs. There’s no intensity though and the lyrics are lazy.

72 SEASONS - GLOBAL PREMIERE
Join us for the global premiere of 72 Seasons at theaters around the world on Thursday, April 13, as we are super excited to host a worldwide listening party the night before the album’s release.
Hang out with fellow Metallica fans at your local movie theater, celebrate the release of 72 Seasons, and experience the full album for the first time in surround sound. Each song will feature its own video playing on screen, along with quips and commentary from us about the recording process and how the songs came together.
To bring us all together, we’re joining forces with Trafalgar Releasing for the third time; first in 2010 for the live theatrical stream of the Big 4 show from Sofia, Bulgaria, and again in 2019 when S&M2 hit the theaters. Trafalgar partners with thousands of theaters in 132 countries worldwide, so hopefully, there’s one right in your neighborhood.
Tickets for “72 Seasons - Global Premiere” will be available beginning Thursday, March 2, at metallica.film. Visit the site now for more information and to sign up to be notified of updates.

So it looks like some Pantera reunion shows are starting to get canceled due to Phil Anselmo's racist antics on stage in 2016. I wonder if they will make it as the openers to the Metallica shows this summer.

I hope they dont get kicked off. Ticket sales are good, so none gives a shit. I cant see metallica saying dump them, with the pictures a vids of them in the past would be pushed to say they are hypocrites.
I would get my money back, if they do drop them.

That is probably the worst single I've heard from Metallica since The View from Lulu. Above I said they sounded bored on the second song and they somehow sound even more bored on this one. Horrible riff. The solo was pretty decent but in no way could save that song.

I like the song. I have liked all three but the drums still don't sound like they were performed by an actual human being. Did Hetfield finally have enough of Lars and replace him with an iPad?

That is about as by-the-numbers as it can get for Metallica. Not a single thing memorable or distinct about that song.

I think it's a better single than the second one was. Its a fun song with a nice driving groove. I don't want some wank-off to see how proficient they are with their instruments.

Wow, maybe the worst drumbeat I've heard in years, and the solo is predictable, Kirk Hammett 'wah bends followed by messy, widdly diddly bullshit'. Riffs are awful. Sounds like they're trying to emulate a 'Justice' feel and failing miserably. Anyone who's watched 'Some Kind Of Monster' probably cracked up as hard as I did when the 'temptation' part started. "I would say delete that" - Lar's dad.

I'm really liking these new songs and the newest: "If darkness had a son" is my fav so far. I dismissed this new upcoming effort at first but I'm glad I went back. I'll be buying the disc.

Yeah, I didn't know we were getting a new video with the song as well. Pretty cool.

I'm sorry, but I can't relate to teenage existential crisis music from a bunch of guys pushing sixty. Not to mention they are so far removed from that kind of life they might as well be from another planet.

From the press release I get that the lyrics are going to be mostly about how things that we go thru as children shape our adult hood. Just because you are rich doesn't mean you are happy, especially if you read about Hetfield's childhood. I know most people don't like St. Anger but I think it is one of my favorite albums due to the lyrics, it is like reading someone's diary. The music fits perfectly to the words for me.
Anyway, I am a lot more excited for the album than I was when the first single was released.
