Her publicist posted this tweet late tonight. Sad news. Super talented and had two iconic songs of the 80s.

Irene Cara’s cause of death revealed. She had hypertension and high cholesterol along with diabetes. Sounds like she probably died from a heart attack or stroke.

Looking at recent pictures of her, I wouldn't have predicted those issues to be the cause of her death.
