Albums Bought (2021 Edition)

First cd purchase of 2021 for me is Taylor Swift's Evermore. I look forward to diving into it shortly.

Re: Albums Bought (2021 Edition)

Hadn't bought any vinyl in about 1.5 years. Just got:

Lost Themes III - John Carpenter
Death by Rock n Roll - The Pretty Reckless

Re: Albums Bought (2021 Edition)

The first month of the year was busy for me:

Walmart exclusive color vinyl:
Metallica - Kill'em All
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Metallica - ...And Justice For All
Metallica - Metallica
Metallica - Hardwired for Self Destruct

Target Exclusive vinyl:
Foo Fighters - Medicine at Midnight

Walmart Exclusive CD:
Halestorm - Vicious

And this weekend while I was at a local record store I found the vinyl of:
Lucifer - Lucifer III

Re: Albums Bought (2021 Edition)

Latest two for me:

Under A Mediterranean Sky -- Steve Hackett

The Future Bites -- Steven Wilson

I'm liking both quite a bit. Hackett's album is full of lush orchestrations, although sometimes I just want to hear his guitar and little else.

WIlson's album is getting ripped a new ass by "fans" but I'm finding it enjoyable (with undeniable Wilson phrasings therein).

Finally got my package from Europe with the newest from Grima, plus a repress of one of their previous albums (atmospheric black metal with strong nature themes).

Re: Albums Bought (2021 Edition)

Picked up my first two of 2021 from Walmart. Boston's first album (translucent blue vinyl) and Bob Seger greatest hits 2 LP set (light blue translucent vinyl). Walmart seems to have a lot of exclusive color and picture vinyl.

Re: Albums Bought (2021 Edition)

I keep meaning to pop in Walmart and see if I can find any of the first three Metallica albums. I skipped ordering when they were initially released as I have OPs of all three, but now that they're no longer available, FOMO has set in.

Re: Albums Bought (2021 Edition)

I bought all four of The Velvet Underground Super Deluxe editions. I had to ebay The Velvet Underground and Nico for a ridiculous amount but don't regret it.

Yeah, they've been tempting but I've so far resisted, I've already spent enough money on their deluxe box sets (and like you have original pressings of their early albums).

Re: Albums Bought (2021 Edition)

I hadn't bought a straight-up album until this week (Beach Bunny's Blame Game EP is the closest I've come), but:

I've only listened to TUNS' sophomore album once so far, but I'm enjoying it, even if there isn't an earworm in the same vein as "Mind Over Matter" for me yet. PONY, meanwhile, has taken Charly Bliss' '90s bubblegrunge torch and running away with it. I'm head over heels in love with all 3 of the songs from it I've heard so far.

Re: Albums Bought (2021 Edition)

I got the new Joe Strummer compilation - Assembly. I am a big fan of The Clash, but haven't listened much to what they did after they disbanded.
