Love the song but never saw the movie
Does anyone else here have a list of soundtrack songs they really like from movies that they've never seen?
Just off the top, here are the ones I can think of that fit this category for me...

I don't know if I like song, but everyone certainly knows "Theme from New York, New York", but I think only about 4 people ever watched the movie.

New York New York is perhaps the finest example.
Not only do most people not know it was written for a film, I think most people also presume it’s one of Sinatra’s ‘50s or ‘60s hits, not from 1980.

"Maniac" was originally written and composed for the William Lustig film. Thank goodness it wasn't used.

^I have no idea what that is. The only music I remember is Jay Chattaway's phenomenal score.

It was that absolutely horrendous disco song playing when Frank goes to the modeling shoot. Had you replaced it with Michael Sembello, it wouldn't have been any worse.

Does Modern Girls or Electric Dreams have famous songs in them? I still have never seen either of those movies.

Invincible from Pat Benatar. I don't remember seeing the movie The Legend of Billie Jean.

I remember this song when it was big back in the day. I never saw the movie back then either.
I finally saw this movie a few years ago. It was actually an ok movie, watching it as middle aged adult. If I had seen this movie when I was younger, I probably would have thought it was boring.

A big one for me was the Less Than Zero soundtrack. Back in the day, I never saw the actual movie but listened to the soundtrack a lot and also read the original book it was based on (by Bret Easton Ellis).
I eventually saw the movie on a basic cable channel and thought it was kinda crappy.

Another similar case was "Who Made Who" by AC DC. It was only decades later when I finally saw the movie Maximum Overdrive and also thought it was crap.
