Strange that they didn't throw Rosanna on there, since it was already done before they released Africa.

Yeah, well the offer was for 500 wallets overall. The first 100 people to order get a dollar bill signed by one of the band members. I thought the wallet was kind of a neat bonus item either way. Not sure if I was one of the first hundred people to order though to get the signed dollar.
I sort of wish both of the albums were on CD as I might end up buying a copy of The Black Album that way anyways. I own all their albums besides Pacific Daydream which I need to pick up at some point.

I really like Weezer, and their cover of Africa, but their No Scrubs cover is horribly bad. So bad, it's trending on Twitter of how much people hate that track specifically. I like this reaction to the also mediocre Take on Me cover

I haven’t gotten a chance to listen to the album yet, but yeah I kind of thought a song like No Scrubs seems like a weird choice for them to cover. The rest of the songs seem like they mostly somewhat fit the Weezer style. They do weird things as a band at times.

I will never understand the love the Africa cover gets. It's no better than I've heard 1000x at a bar from a cover band. I've sampled most of tracks, and I feel that way about them as well.
Bring on the Black Album.

Covering "Paranoid" is kind of a lazy choice for a Sabbath song, I wish they would have chosen something a bit more adventurous.

Brian Bell bought a DVD off of me on eBay last year.

Yeah, I mean most of the songs are decent but not terribly special. I have most of their stuff anyways so I would have picked it up eventually anyways.

They covered the most covered songs of all time, and sound bored doing it.

But no, the address was in Westwood. And he owns a house in Westwood.

These covers are boring. It sounds like they took the original tracks and just put new vocals on top. I like covers that bring something different to the song. Why would I listen to these over the originals.

I was listening to Umphrey's McGee's Zonkey album just prior to this, and it's literally the polar opposite. One bastardized multiple songs into a singular entity to mixed success (weirdly hooked on Frankie Zombie), this one took zero risks and appropriately has no payoff.

I wouldn’t say it’s a bad album but I do agree it’s a bit bland. It’s a literal cover album and like was mentioned they didn’t really add any of their own style to the songs. The weird thing is that I’ve heard them cover songs where they do infuse a bit of their style more into the songs. It feels like they just did this fast to get something out, which I’m not sure why when they have an album coming soon anyways. Unless they wanted to capitalize on their cover of Africa being popular.

Kind of a boring record. Other than a few flourishes they do little to nothing with each tune. Listened once, I won't be listening again.

Miami Vice?
That would be cool if they were fans.

I'm all for covers albums, but did they have to choose songs that have already been covered to death?
Great covers already exist for Take on Me by Reel Big Fish & Sweet Dreams by Marilyn Manson. Paranoid, Stand by Me & Billie Jean have been covered a thousand times by a thousand other bands.
AND WHERE IS ROSANNA?

It’s like aliens listened to an hour of classic rock and pop radio and then tried to reproduce everything they heard as closely as possible.
