Re: Albums Bought (2019)
I just heard this band on an 80s podcast and really dug it. If you're wondering if they look familiar, that's Annie Lennox in the middle, and Dave Stewart on the right. Yes, the Eurythmics. But this is a pre-Eurythmics guitar-oriented band. I never liked the Eurythmics as it was too synth for me, but Annie Lennox is a hell of a singer. Always wondered what she'd be like singing the music I prefer, and this is definitely that. I haven't had a chance to spin this yet, but I will over the weekend.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)
Just came in the mail a minute ago, and I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but...!
It's Hollerado's final album. I loved their sophomore album, "White Paint", even though it's kind of a mixed bag. (Half euphoric pop bliss I want to keep on infinite replay; half songs I'd struggle to care less about.) Their third album was more consistent, but while the lows weren't as low, the highs weren't as high either. I'm curious to find where this one falls.

The B-52s "Cosmic Thing" 30th anniversary release. The bonus tracks and the live concert disc made this one an easy upgrade for me.

This is a good article on how the album was created as the remaining bandmembers pulled themselves together after the tragic death of Ricky Wilson

I notice that Rhino had this live performance video on their channel of the title song "Cosmic Thing" so I wonder if it's from the same live show as is on disc 2 of the new release.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)
Whoa, Amazon shit the bed for me on this one. The album was released this past Friday, so I was expecting that I should get by then or Monday no problem, but then I received an email from Amazon that the expected delivery date is one to two months, I might have to wait until the end of August. I cancelled my order, went to the label's website and ordered an exclusive colored vinyl, including free digital download in MP3 and FLAC (Amazon did not offer any kind of autorip for this title) for what cost practically the same (with 3 day shipping). This will teach me not to blindly buy from Amazon first, I should know better.

Amazon has gotten really bad with not getting enough copies to fill preorders lately. Also, a lot of CDs for older albums seem to unavailable or only offered as imports when they are available to purchase at other websites. I have received three obvious bootleg CDs that were listed as imports recently so I order elsewhere now.

True, I've seen this too and will now definitely check other sources before buying an album.
In this case, it's the best choice I ever made. After checking Discogs, the vinyl version I purchased directly from the label is the only version available on vinyl with a bonus track (that is also on the deluxe CD version) and limited to 500 copies. Shit, maybe I should have bought a couple more to sell after the run is sold out.

Also, these are really good pressings; they're 10", but very flat, quiet and great mastering, letting you really crank it to hear their BEEFY tone, without the sound getting too distorted/brittle.
