Re: Albums Bought (2019)

Nothing yet for me, I did get some nice records for Christmas and bought a CD right before New Year's. I'm sure that will change soon enough!

I'd say so, I'll be including any catalog titles or reissues that I buy (including vintage vinyl)

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

Black Sabbath - Master of Reality (one of the newer 180g reissues, if it sounds good I'll pick up more of these as my original Sabbath albums are a bit noisy for my taste, I've owned them for over 30 years now!)

Blue Oyster Cult - Fire of Unknown Origin (on blue vinyl)

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

I'll give music lovers a little tip if they have wide-ranging interests and still use CDs. This is a golden age of picking up cheap CD lots on eBay if you aren't picky about condition. 2018 seems to be the year when many Gen Xers finally capitulated and began dumping their CD collections for pennies on the dollar.

I plan on participating fully, but I just wanted to say, it's so good to see people who buy music rather than rent it.

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

Last year I discovered Mastodon and fell hard for them (I know, I'm really late to the party at this point!) and am filling in my collection, I just picked up Crack the Skye on vinyl and Cold Dark Place EP on CD (only vinyl choice for that one was a picture disc that's four times the price, no thanks).

Re: Albums Bought (2019)

KISS - Hotter than Hell

Man, these KISS vinyl reissues are great: nice, quiet, flat 180g vinyl. HTH is a particularly problematic recording, I've owned this album in a myriad of formats since I was 10 years old and I swear this is the best this album has ever sounded IMO (still kind of murky and sludgy, but I'm hearing some more definition in this release). This album is my favorite of the first three KISS albums.
