Best Christmas Albums

For the past few years I been collecting some Christmas albums. Been trying to be very careful with the ones i bought, but finally got to the point to tell some of my favorites

A Christmas Gift For You From Phil Spector
Not only is the sound production great. But i enjoy the happy feeling of this albums. Many Christmas albums tend to be too melancholic and just plain sad so this one stands out as encapsulating that happy Christmas spirit you feel when you are a kid.

Elton John Christmas Party
This one is a compilation but it has some hardly heard Christmas songs from artist such as the Flaming Lips, Pet Shop Boys,The Band, The Pretenders, Outkast

others i really enjoy

Andy Williams Christmas Album
She & Him Christmas
Michael Buble's Christmas
Pink Martini Christmas

what are others you guys consider good

All the Brian Setzer ones
Canned Heat
If you like Jethro Tull. Sounds same as one of their regular albums. Lyrics are all Christmas.

I used to buy Christmas albums like crazy in the mid to late 90s when my kids were little. I love the straightforward performances the best, so these were some of my favorites from those days:

Vanessa Williams "Star Bright"
https://open.spotify.com/album/2zxB6hxt6wT7x4RGYfKwzJ

Jewel "Joy"
https://open.spotify.com/album/6LxaLcNnXsYOmvSIbtT0xs

Martina McBride "White Christmas"
https://open.spotify.com/album/6zMbvZeDQRie5F6a4wOu8e

I would have to dig out my CDs to remember the others.

When I was a kid, we had the Sesame Street Christmas Album on cassette and played it over and over. I've played it for my kids and it's not quite the same with them but I still like it.

When I was a teenager, I had the Neil Diamond Christmas Album on CD and I really remember loving it, though I can't remember a thing about it. I'll download it and play it a little this weekend, see if it still holds up.

This is the best answer.

I won't embarrass myself by stating how many different copies I own of this masterpiece, on CD and vinyl. It wouldn't be Christmas without it.

This post jogged my memory that the soundtrack to the movie "Jingle All The Way" is a really good Xmas compilation, and Setzer contributes to a few tracks on that one.

"The Christmas Album" by Neil Diamond is pretty good. Avoid his other Christmas albums, which almost descend into parody.

Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown Christmas is a masterpiece, even outside of Christmas album rankings.

Also of note, Carpenter's Christmas Portrait is an incredible showcase of Karen's talents. My parents had it on vinyl and I remember being entranced by it as a kid.

I've also come to enjoy Barenaked for Holidays, though it's a bit uneven.

I’m also a big Christmas music fan and collector, maybe 500 CDs. Here’s a mellow song from an album I can’t eject lately, Relient K’s 2008 Christmas offering.

I loooooove Christmas music. Can't argue with many of these choices. Vince Guaraldi's Peanuts album is the king. My brother just keyed me into a local musician who did a big band take on it, which is pretty good:

Also, I make an annual Christmas mix for family and friends. I'll post the Spotify link for this year's here for y'all. (PM me if you want to download it.) Enjoy!

wow so many awesome recommendations. I thought I was a bit too much by owning over 20 Christmas CDs
What about Gene Autry? I been meaning to get a Christmas album from him. Which one is the one ?

Also yeah Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown Christmas is a classic. Funny i read the other day that Schulz detested jazz, so if he would have had it his way, the Peanuts music would have been classical pieces
