Deep Purple & Judas Priest Announce Co-Headlining Summer Tour

Always been a big fan of JP.Not sure why I never watched them live before in concert when I was younger and them too..I did get high once in awhile.

Wheatland, CA is last stop on tour and not to far from me.
But I wonder how burned out these two bands will be by that time.Deep purple has been around longer than me.And I'm about the same age as PRIEST.

If the price is right I think I might go.

Legends will collide late this summer when DEEP PURPLE and JUDAS PRIEST embark on a co-headlining North American tour. Produced by Live Nation, the outing will kick off August 21 in Cincinnati, Ohio and visit 25 cities across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping September 30 in Wheatland, California. ickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, April 27 at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com.

Changed the link.

Check out the dates for the tour below.

Can I post the full tour?Or is that to much info from the original article.

Aug. 21 — Cincinnati, OH @ Riverbend Music Center

skip A bunch of dates

Sept. 30 — Wheatland, CA @ Toyota Amphitheatre

Nowhere remotely close to me. Bummer. Wouldn't mind seeing Priest again, even though I'm always disappointed with the set list.

I saw Deep Purple last year with Alice Cooper. As a band, they sounded good, but Ian Gillan was all over the place. He was either loaded or his mind is going. Either way, sad to see.

I'll be at the Cincy date. I catch them whenever they are close, probably a dozen times over the years. Sucks that Glenn Tipton had to drop out.

EDIT: Confirmed, I purchase pre-sale tix this morning.

Just saw them with Saxon. I would go to this but unfortunately (AGAIN), it's Tinley Park. Terrible venue with a horrible commute from Chicago. Screw that.

Eh, with the exception of Glenn, these are the guys have been touring with both these bands for several years. No new revelation there.

Re: Deep Purple & Judas Priest Announce Co-Headlining Summer Tour

Just got an email that the local Priest show is blowing tickets out for $35 here in Tulsa this week. Guess they aren't selling. No idea why they thought they could sell out that venue.

This would of been awesome in 1985.

The new Priest album is great, but Purple is kind of boring and not good now.

Re: Deep Purple & Judas Priest Announce Co-Headlining Summer Tour

I saw Purple in 2002 (with the Scorpions as special guest and DIO opening) and they were great! It's still the same line-up, just 16 years later...

From what I've read and heard they're still quite good. Their latest album was just OK, but the one before that (Now What?!) was excellent.

Actually, Steve Morse has been in Deep Purple longer than Blackmore was, but I don't think longevity is really a selling point here...

If Ian Gillan can't handle being lead singer for DP, what is their back-up plan?

Ritchie Blackmore would like to do one show with Deep Purple. Interview start about 1:25.

David Coverdale, and then Joe Lynn Turner.
