I like AC/DC but I’m not the biggest fan or anything. Just never really delved much into them beyond the stuff on the radio and a couple live performances I saw on DVD or TV. Still though definitely one of the most iconic bands of all time. RIP.

That's too bad. I don't listen to metal but I know some AC/DC songs and I know how influential they were.
Once again, 64 doesn't seem that old anymore. I've been saying that a lot lately. Rock stars who didn't make it to age 70 in 2017:
Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) 52
Gordon Downie (Tragically Hip) 53
Grant Hart (Husker Du) 56
Malcolm Young (AC/DC) 64
Tom Petty 66
Walter Becker (Steely Dan) 67
Geoff Nichols (Black Sabbath) 68
Butch Trucks (Allman Brothers) 69
Greg Allman (Allman Brothers) 69
Not as bad as 2016, but I'm not used to it yet.

Sad to read that dementia was the reason he took leave from the band in the first place. RIP Malcolm.
AC/DC has been one of my favorites since I started buying albums. But they really need to just let AC/DC come to an end. Hopefully we will not have any more stunts like the Axl Rose tour.

I have the Live at River Plate Blu-ray from their Black Ice world tour -- I think that was the last time Malcolm toured with the band.
I saw them live during that Black Ice tour that same year at The Forum.

RIP Malcolm.
Truly a driving force in Rock, and probably thought of by many (myself included) to be an indespensible member of the band's iconic heavy sound.

The first album I went to this weekend after hearing of Malcolm's passing was Powerage.

I kind of figured with Brian's hearing issue, and the relative lack of Malcom on the last album anyway, they'd end up mostly just making studio albums for a while. I forgot about Phil's departure, and didn't realize that their bassist Cliff had also left recently. There isn't much left of AC/DC at this point. They are one of the few big ones left that I haven't seen, despite all of the touring they did.
