Freddie Mercury's Birthday today

He would've been 71 today. In a weird bit of random chance, not even knowing this was his birthday, my wife and I started watching the Live at Wembley Stadium DVD which I'd purchased a few weeks ago, while we ate dinner today. It was weird then that I decided to look up his bio on wikipedia where I learned today was his birthday. Stranger yet are fresh bumps in the Bohemian Rhapsody thread in movie talk.....

In memory of Freddie, he created some of the most memorable music the world has ever known.

It's more believable when you realize that he's been dead for 26 years.
Time flies.

It sure does, even when you aren't having fun. I'm not a major Queen fan ("Under Pressure" and "Hammer to Fall" aside), but Mercury always impressed as more youthful than he actually was. He had bona fide charisma and energy.

Freddie Mercury was a fucking phenomenon on the stage!
The way he moves and walks on the stage, is like a fish in water. Not many singers have that ability. He was born for that.
