RIP : Peter Burns (Dead or Alive) 1959 - 2016

Man, the first 80's band that I got into and am still a fan of. I didn't really care that Pete fucked up his face with all of that bad plastic surgery but Youthquake is one of my favorite albums of the 1980's.

I guess Pete died of a heart attack yesterday.

EDIT - can a mod change the DOB in the title - it should say 1959. He died at age 57.

RIP. I was a huge fan and DOA was my high school soundtrack from 85-87. I actually saw them in 1987 when they were doing a handful of live dates to promote "Mad, Bad, and Dangerous to Know". I think it was at The Palace which is now The Avalon.

Kind of ironic that they were getting ready to release their entire catalog on vinyl this December.

I pre-ordered the set on Amazon UK.

Aw man. If there was one song guaranteed to pull me onto the dance floor back in the day, it was You Spin Me Round.

"[People] always want to know – am I gay, bi, trans or what? I say, forget all that. There's got to be a completely different terminology and I'm not aware if it's been invented yet. I'm just Pete."

Indeed. RIP Pete.

I did like that single, but I never really explored anything beyond that.

I knew so many people who had "Youthquake" in their collection back in the day. And I was telling my friend earlier that the clubs and bars played most of this album. Not just "You Spin Me Round".

I still blast Youthquake on vinyl - It's a great album, IMO.
