I had actually checked Duran Duran a couple days ago, prior to this Ticketmaster thing, and there were no GA lawn seats available then, either. Apparently they put this show on the voucher list even though there were never going to be any tickets the vouchers would work for.

What a bunch of bullshit. I tried to buy two tickets to Sun Kil Moon and applied one of my two vouchers and it says:
The concert was on their fucking list.
We're sorry we were not able to redeem your voucher for the following reasons. Please refer to your voucher's conditions of use for further details.
Sorry, the voucher code you entered cannot be used to purchase these tickets. Please double check your code and try again.

I ended up being able to use a voucher on L7. Maybe I'll get a bloody tampon thrown at me.
A.voucher code did not work for Echo & The Bunnymen.

And then after wasting my time trying to use these vouchers, I get an email from LiveNation saying "We noticed you were looking at these concerts--don't forget to buy your tickets!"
Motherfuckers.

I think that part of the problem is their system logic. I think that it counts resale tickets as GA tickets, but the voucher doesn't cover resale tickets. Or, they're cruel assholes. 6 of one...

It's a little known fact that Ticketmaster was actually created by Franz Kafka and to this day is considered his greatest masterpiece.

Re: PSA: Check your Ticketmaster account
I'm extremely skeptical that 100% of those shows had a significant number of free ticket vouchers available, and for every single show, without exception, 100% of them were gone in 2 days.
As I said earlier, I checked Duran Duran before the show was even added to the list, and the General Admission seats were already sold out.
This whole thing is fishy.

The Detroit dates didn't even go up until late yesterday. All of them at the same venue, most of them shit.

UPDATE JUNE 22 11:30 PM EDT
At this time, nearly $5m worth of eligible ticket vouchers have been redeemed and the first wave of eligible events has been closed. Given the overwhelming interest, Ticketmaster is adding another $5m worth of eligible tickets so more class members can redeem ticket vouchers. Please check back tomorrow for additional information.

The previous comment may have been a joke, but I could totally see a class action suit filed in response to how the settlement process for the previous class action suit was handled.

If $5MM have already been redeemed, then there's only $35MM more left before they have covered themselves in the lawsuit.

I'll check it again in 6 months. Have to admit there's almost no bands that if you gave me free GA lawn seats I'd take the effort to drive out and go see anyway.

Re: PSA: Check your Ticketmaster account
So there were what, 500 shows on that list? At $5m, that means there would have been an average of $10,000.00 worth of free vouchers (of cheap General Admission) for each show? And all of them, from the hottest acts to the duds, sold out 100% in two days?
That seems really unlikely to me.

Yeah, it's a stretch that I'd drive an hour to see Mark Kozelek carry on for a night. But it could be decent. Never saw him/them.
