Love the video but the song is a freaking masterpiece. Ominous, epic, soaring and brilliant. Jonny Lee Greenwood has gone from the best guitarest going early on to an astonishing orchestrator. It goes without saying but DON'T listen to this without solid or better headphones. There's so much going on.

I may have to start getting back into Radiohead. They kind of lost me over the years. I haven't listened to them in a long time.
OK Computer will forever be one of my favorite albums, though.

I don't understand why the internet freaked out over the release of this. I generally like Radiohead, but they've become super boring. And the press acts like they are the greatest band ever.

^^ My feelings exactly. I've never thought they are great, but I've liked the couple of shows I've seen. That aside, eh. Not digging this new song at all, but I love the whole claymation Wicker Man thing.

Agreed about the press. I actually kind of like the song and video, which was surprising to me, so I'm open-minded about the album.
The only previous album I intend to go back and revisit is Kid A.

Agreed. Everything they do now is so calculated and orchestrated. I remember when they would just release a new album without all the hoopla and gimmicks.

I dug the song, looking forward to a full new album.
I would really like Radiohead to one day make another album with traditional instruments...guitars, bass, drums. I do like their stuff with piano, synthesizers, orchestral pieces, etc...but I'd like another album like Pablo Honey or The Bends.

They are still in love with samples, loops and Johnny's amazing string arrangements popping out of nowhere. It's cohesive but other than Burn The Witch there really isn't anything memorable. Even the studio version of True Love Waits feels like its dying...which is a true shame.

Re: Radiohead -- "LP9" -- New Single: Burn The Witch
I would put this in the upper echelon of Radiohead albums, along with OKC, KA and IR. It's brilliant. I would have paid the album price for The Numbers alone.

I can't rank it because I haven't listened to their albums much after Kid A. But yeah The Numbers is an awesome track.
