Great Scott, where has Michael Stanley been all my life! I just discovered his music this summer, and I'll be damned if it isn't some of the meatiest, most satisfying rock-and-roll I've heard in ages. Solo and with his band, he produced one exemplary album after another. It's a scandal that this guy didn't make it big.

Re: Post a song you like or love.
I have to repost this, which I posted a couple of years ago. I knew the first time I heard it that it was a soaring, profoundly moving masterpiece, and that it would become one of my favourite songs, but I love it more and more every time I hear it (even though I dislike bagpipes). I seldom experience this, but this song speaks directly to me and the way I feel, but perhaps not in the manner it was intended. The "freedom" of the title is freedom from despair and despondency and hopelessness.

This guy's nasal, sarcastic voice sounds like it comes from someone who looks like Joey Ramone. It also sounds like he produces too much saliva for his mouth to handle.
