Re: Post a song you like or love.
I just discovered this Prince song last week, and it's been in heavy rotation in every device I own since then. I'm doubly-psyched that it's coming out legally for the first time on the big 1999 reissue box:

A great song and this music video for it has aged very well...
XTC "Senses Working Overtime"
(Note that the video is mirror image reversed and gives the mistaken impression that the band is full of left-handed guys)

You know how it is that there are probably hundreds of songs that you actually know every word to even though you never had the albums or even "liked" them just because you heard them so many times as a kid on the radio back in the day when you had little or no control of what music you heard in the car and at home? Well this was one of those songs. My car, playing an algorithm off of the song I had previously requested (
). It started playing You're The Biggest Part Of Me by Ambrosia. I was just about to fast forward it as a garbage song from the soft 70s AM radio days, but I didn't since I hadn't heard it in so long. It immediately struck me as a blatant rip off of Michael McDonald-era Doobie Brothers. Yet, damn if it isn't actually a really well written and produced song. Tight, clean and catchy with a terrific bridge and memorable chorus. The band ended up doing nothing after this one hit and the song has obviously faded into obscurity. But yeah, in the absence of being inescapably overplayed in 1980, it reveals itself to be a really good song. At least it surprised me.

This is simply awesome. From one of the two best albums of 2018...
