The Weeknd

Is he legit and a true talent or the flavor of the month?

Re: The Weeknd

He was legit when many were listening to his indie records before this big mainstream album.

The Weeknd will be around for quite a while. His shit combines talent, edginess and a masterful pop sensibility.

That new album is really good.

This. There was a trilogy of indie albums before he went mainstream.

He's cashing in on his 50 Shades popularity.

The Weeknd - Starboy

I think it's a brilliant song

A starboy is a womaniser and what it really means is the Weeknd is in love with the womanising lifestyle of a rock star (surprise surprise).

The man's vocal talent cannot be denied.

He cut his trademark hair.

Starboy sounds good but not a fan of the second song he did on SNL.

Daft Punk amps up the production. Good song made even better by Daft Punk.

Cool song but it doesn't make any sense.

It's another great Daft Punk song.

The music is great but the lyrics are all over the place.

Talented guy, but quite pretentious. He was on the Graham Norton Show last year as a musical guest. And all musical acts always join the other guests on the couch after they perform to talk for a minute. But not this guy. After his performance, Graham just applauded (along with his other guests and studio audience) and he waved him off. Then said "The Weeknd only communicates through the power of song. He doesn't chat." Explaining why he wouldn't be joining the others. Douche.

Re: The Weeknd - Starboy

The lyrics are basically him being boastful about his money, cars and babes

Which he would have none of if some people didn't give two shits about his music. There's still plenty of time for him to turn people off.

Maybe he did not want to be part of that canned fake applause that Norton gets for every unfunny joke he tells?

Maybe he is trying to be like Prince.

I hope Secrets become a single

My favorite new song

I fucking love the single "I Feel It Coming" with Daft Punk. Great song to close the album.

He sounds like Michael Jackson from the early 80s during a lot of this song.

Love to Lay is also good.

Monster Party is the new single.

Love to Lay and Secrets are both really good. Secrets is a great example of doing a semi-cover yet still putting your own mark on it.

"Often" though not on Starboy is a song you can't get out of your head.

I like a few of the songs on this album, but I don't think it's anywhere close to his record from 2015.
