Apparently American Apparel have long been doing hyper-sexualized advertising and using nudity and shock value to sell their products. I guess this isn't particularly new. It's long been controversial, from I can gather from a quick look at their Wikipedia page.

Apparently they recently started airbrushing nipples and bushes out of the photos haha to tone down on the "sexualization"

It kinda boggles my mind that she is being completely ignored by Pitchfork. She isn't even listed in the "artists section" of their website. Have they not even heard of her? You'd think a music review website like Pitchfork would at least be familiar with her. She isn't THAT new. It's been six months already since the debut album came out and she had two EPs already since 2012.

"Lemon Eyes has been in rotation on the 24 Hour Fitness in-house music channel. It was weird hearing her music in "the wild" for the first time. Glad to hear her music getting a little exposure.
