Axl Rose does not look bad for a 54 year old guy. Gained some weight, sure, but he's not 30 anymore.

I'll pass and remember how they were when I saw them in '87 and '88. They were a hell of a lot cheaper, for a start.

That post showing Welcome to the Jungle being played at the reunion show doesn't sound great but I've heard Axl sound quite a bit better in other more recent videos.

I don't think he looks that bad either. Some people act like he's morbidly obese or something. He's gained some weight but he's in fair shape for being in his mid fifties.

Not to be a fat-shamer, but man he looks like a different person. You'd like to think with the ticket prices they're charging, that he might have put a little effort into trimming down and shaping up for the reunion (a'la Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamil). They're playing this weekend at our about-to-open T-Mobile Bacon-Wrapped Filet Arena :
Spoiler:

I was going to pick up a couple of last-minute tickets on the secondary market, but now I think I'll keep those c-notes to myself and fondly remember when I saw them open for the Stones at the L.A. Colosseum in 1988 instead.

So Axl broke his foot but kept it going. I'm surprised he didn't flake out. Looks like it happened on the 4/1 show, so he sung seated last night at the Vegas show.

Yeah, Dave Grohl's loaning his throne to him for a few weeks of shows.

So far what I've seen and heard, it's not bad. I expected worse to be honest.

Kinda cool that Grohl loaned Axl the throne to perform in while he's injured. At least so far Axl seems committed to showing up for the shows on this tour.

Is Grohl still using his throne?

Saw Foo Fighters six months ago and he played the whole show seated (and, seemingly pretty inebriated, too).

Showing up sure. But still late. The review I read was he showed up 90 minutes late and came on stage about midnight. When I first became a Guns fan it wouldn't have been a problem, but now at 43 I don't want to go to a concert that starts at midnight.

Didn't realize he was still going on late. I don't really get that I guess. It almost has to be intentional given that it happens at basically every Guns N' Roses show.

Axl has been a pain in everyone's ass since he started. It's come to be expected.
I thought about going but I have no time to sit around for hours waiting for this prick.

Rolling Stone's website has an article with a bunch of the performances from the show, including Coma. It's pretty good quality, too.

Never was a huge GnR fan back in the day but always dug Rocket Queen - I'd definitely go after checking some of these videos out and seeing the setlist

Re: Axl Rose and Slash have made up and become friends again.

First off, I have to admit that I'm surprised by the love for 'Coma'. Its always been my favorite GnR song, but I thought it was pretty obscure. Glad others love it as well.

The Vegas version on the Rolling Stone website sounded pretty damn good. I was surprised they didn't use the hospital sound effects that are on the record, but I didn't really miss it. I did notice that Richard Fortus messed up briefly right around the 6:38 mark; but you have to cut him some slack, there are like a million chord changes in that tune!

I still have no desire to see them in a stadium, or pay $250 for a ticket. But if the chance for an arena show comes around, I just might make the effort. (I've already seen them three times, including at The Paradise Club in Boston on the first tour).

Just wanted to remind people that GnR is playing Coachella tomorrow and Coachella is streamed on YouTube.

I read an article on Pitchfork saying that most bands' sets will be streamed live on the Youtube channel.

The article goes on to say that notably absent from Saturday's stream is Guns N Roses. I guess Axl wouldn't allow there's to be on there. Dammit.
