Songs you hate by artists you love?

Re: Songs you hate by artists you love?
Perhaps we could spin this off into another discussion: songs that were big hits but weren't really indicative of the band's regular style.
First one that comes to mind is Len's "Steal My Sunshine". Massive radio hit, I know I bought the CD on the strength of that CD and was just aghast at the rest of the album. I can't even remember what it was like it was so different.

Here are some songs by some of my favorite artists that I dislike. Not because they were famous hits, but because I dislike them:
Pearl Jam - Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 2 (I fell asleep once listening to this album, and this track freaked out my sleeping self, due to the high pitched screaming - I still cringe)
The Beatles - Revolution 9 - Just takes me out of the rest of the album. Interesting, for sure, but not something I usually listen to.
Neil Young - Motorcycle Mama

Prince's "God"
It is ridiculously over the top and made me laugh. I used to include this as a joke on our car mix tapes and it pissed people off ("turn that shit off!"). For fans it is the holy grail of Prince B-Sides, I always thought it was his worst song ever.

Not a huge fan of Van Hagar (love Van Halen), but they put out some decent songs. However..."When It's Love" and "Feels So Good" off of OU812 just make me homicidal. Awful shit.

Money is definitely not my favorite song on the album, not even close, but I would never say that I hate it. Definitely overexposed.

I always skip this song when I listen to Diamond Dogs. Schmaltzy crap.

I don't love The Rolling Stones, but I do like several of their songs. But Shattered is such an awful song to me that I actually get angry when I hear it.

Tom Cochrane - "Life is a Highway"
Does anyone actually like that song, overplayed to death as it was?

KMFDM has a song on their 1999 album ADIOS called "Witness". The song is basically about being abducted by aliens and probed in the ass. Generally their songs have touched upon social injustice or similar themes, so alien butt probing really doesn't fit in the catalog at all.
I didn't even bother ripping the song when I put their catalog on my MP3 player.

Jackson Browne - Linda Paloma. Absolutely ruins the Pretender album. Thank goodness for the skip button on cd players!

My least favorite REM song is "Everybody Hurts"- just listening to it hurts!

Genesis - "Who Dunnit?" Awesome album otherwise, but always need to skip that "song" to get from the epic "Dodo/Lurker" to "Man On the Corner" as it should have been. There are awesome b-sides from Abacab and no excuses for it to be there.

First song that came to mind. Just annoying beginning to end.

It's hardly played anymore, but I still dig it. Loved the album it was on. "Brave and Crazy" was probably my favorite tune off it. I can't stand the Rascal Flatts version of it. They took all 'oomph' out of it.

The Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go/Rock the Casbah. This band put out some of the most brilliant music of the punk era. But these two piece of shit songs are what most people know them for today.

I suppose it was the utter omniprescence of L.i.a.H. back in '92-'93 that ruined the song for me. The repetition of the same shrill refrain. Wasn't Letterman a huge fan of the song? I recall something like that.
If you like Cochrane, check out his 1986 self-titled album with Red Rider, which is my all-time favourite rock record. Just one stunning anthem after another, with the exception of a couple of slight cuts ("Ashes to Diamonds", "Loading").
