Whoa. Just curious---is it just Marley, or does reggae in general not do it for you? Because with me, I'm generally not a fan of either 70's singer-songwriters or progressive rock, so pretty much none of those artists do anything for me, regardless of how good they are at what they do.
But liking reggae but not Marley would seem odd to me.

I don't love reggae as a genre, but I do enjoy certain artists like Jimmy Cliff.

This sort-of qualifies:
The Smiths
I do admit to liking them a little more lately, but I despised them in the 80s. I felt (and still do) that there were just so many better acts than them at the time. Now that music is so crappy nowadays, when a station plays an old Smiths song it's kind of a breath of fresh air. Of course, I'd be even happier if said station would play some of The Smiths' better contemporaries, but for now they'll do.

Elvis Costello - I literally can't listen to an entire song without changing the station. It's so bad I find it hard to believe there really are so many people that like him, I feel like there's just a couple of people that liked him and everybody else said they like him because they wanted to be cool like those first few people.
Put me down for Bob Marley and reggae in general. I just can't listen to it, the sound of it makes me angry.

Coldplay for the latter
Radiohead - because they can't write a memorable tune to save their lives

I did. He told me not to listen to insufferable rubbish like U2 or The Boss' irritating voice and song structures. (I confess, Springsteen's early stuff is pretty great but I seriously cannot take his voice/delivery and all the sax.)
Oh and Elvis Costello is great. An acquired taste perhaps.

Ok, how about Nine Inch Nails? But then I really like Broken, most of The Downward Spiral and parts of The Fragile...
I'm really struggling here. I really like most of the bands most people picked here. In particular, whoever nominated the Velvet Underground... you're a sick person and you should immediately seek help.
