03 The Charade
04 Sugah Daddy
05 Really Love
06 Back in the Future (Part I)
07 Till It's Done (Tutu)
08 Prayer
09 Betray My Heart
10 The Door
11 Back in the Future (Part II)
12 Another Life
If you hadn't heard, D'Angelo released his first album in 14 years today on iTunes and Spotify with hard copies coming next week. I'm about halfway through and it sounds like a tremendous achievement to my ears. Anyone give it a listen?

So excited for this. Completely out of nowhere but it is worth the wait. Great album. Voodoo is still his masterpiece but this is very close along with Brown Sugar.

This album sounds like D'Angelo doing his best Prince impersonation. While it's certainly not my thing, I liked it more than the other D'Angelo I've heard.

I've listened to it a couple of times on Spotify and thought the exact same thing. A decent impersonation of the good Prince. Better than the latest release from Prince himself anyway...

I am surprised how great this album is. I dislike 90% of mainstream r&b, most of the stuff I like falls more into the "alternative r&b" umbrella like FKA twigs, Blood Orange, Mayer Hawthorne, etc.... and this falls closer to that compared to the Usher/Chris Brown/Ne-Yo type of pop/r&b for some reason I thought D'Angelo was in.
I've skimmed it a few times but waiting until the vinyl release in Feb to fully devour it, though everything I've heard so far tells me this is one of 2014's best albums.

Woah, the last thing I expected was to see D'Angelo drop a new album this month. Listening now.

Great record! I've enjoyed this much more than Voodoo. The drums and bass guitar on 1000 Deaths are awesome!
