I picked this up tonight but haven't listened to it all yet. So far it doesn't seem too bad but I also haven't heard anything that really stands out yet.

Any retailer exclusives with bonus tracks for this one?

It doesn't appear so. I hate when artists or record labels do that and it happened on the last three Weezer albums I believe. For sure on The Red Album and Raditude I know there were deluxe editions and I believe also iTunes exclusives.

Slightly off topic but was the third album of Rivers Cuomo's Alone series ever released individually? I bought the first two Alone discs but I believe you could only get the third volume with some overpriced book. I wouldn't mind getting it but only care to get the disc.

I have hated everything since make believe, but I like this one pretty well after one listen. Hopefully I will have more time to listen to it this week, but definitely their best in quite some time.

Re: New Weezer album "Everything Will Be Alright in the End"

I will say one thing for this album, it sounds to me like Weezer are trying to be more like they were on their classic albums rather than trying so hard to make something that appeals to the mainstream. I still am having a hard time getting hooked on the album but I appreciate that they seemingly have gotten past the point of making music that isn't really them or doing songs that seem like publicity stunts. I felt like Hurley they were starting to move more towards that direction but this album feels even more like the first three to me, only not as memorable.

I didn't even realize Weezer came out with a new album. I totally stopped being interested in them after disappointing record after disappointing record. First 2 were great, the rest I couldn't get into at all. Now that I've heard the new one, I love it! For me at least, it feels like a true return to form of the days that made them great. They even kind of acknowledge that in the Back to the Shack song.

Re: New Weezer album "Everything Will Be Alright in the End"

I've been on a bit of a Weezer kick lately and it occurred to me, "Hey! They put out a well-received album last year!" So I finally gave it a listen this evening - twice in a row on Spotify - and really, really enjoyed it.

I particularly liked when the album title was reprised at the end of "Foolish Father." I'm a sucker for stuff like that.

Definitely a step back in the right direction, although Ruling Me is still my favorite Weezer song post-Green Album.
