Oasis to Reissue 1st Three Albums

First up is Definitely Maybe on May 20:

http://pitchfork.com/news/54128-oasi...initely-maybe/

In honor of the 20th Anniversary of their debut, Oasis plan to reissue their first three studio albums: 1994's Definitely Maybe, 1995's (What's The Story?) Morning Glory?, and 1997's Be Here Now.

The first of the reissues, Definitely Maybe, comes out May 20 via Big Brother Recordings, and will include "rare and unseen footage" and "previously unheard tracks". The band will also release a 12-inch of lead single "Supersonic" for Record Store Day on April 19.

Update:

For a limited period of time, a cassette of original 1993 demos will be made available exclusively through Oasis' website. View the track list for the Definitely Maybe reissue, the Original 1993 Demos cassette, and the limited edition 12-inch of "Supersonic", below.

'Sad Song' won't be on the vinyl reissue (I have the original UK 1994 pressing), so no sale for me.

Re: Oasis to Reissue 1st Three Albums

I might try and and go to Record Store Day for that "Supersonic" vinyl. More for liking the song than being a vinyl aficionado.

I never actually heard the song in the 1990's, the stations I listened to at the time only ever bothered to play *every other Oasis song except Supersonic". I picked up their first album a year or so ago on my "90's rock revival quest" and instantly loved Supersonic.

Are you sure you lived through 1994 to 1995? Supersonic got a ton of airplay on both radio and television in the US.

The sound has been remastered from the original tapes, they have to sound better than the garbage masterings we've received for the album before now.

Re: Oasis to Reissue 1st Three Albums

1993-1996 was a period that I didn't really care about music, and most of that time just listening to Top 40-ish music. So, I completely missed Supersonic. Missed out on Nirvana when Kurt was actually alive.

Even when I did get my shit together musically, the stations here never played the song. Lotta "Wonderwall", "Champagne Supernova", and "Live Forever".

Still an awesome song, even thought it took me awhile to hear it.
