That is an interesting idea. The first one that came to mind was Infinity by Journey, which opens with "Lights". Now, I despise Journey, and I only found out about this when a local radio station did something called "Album Sides Wednesday", when they'd play album sides in their entirety. They played side 1 of Infinity, and I thought "Really? They opened the album with that song? That's a last track of side 1 song if I've ever heard one."

That is a pretty odd choice for a track 1. They did bury it at about track 11 I think on the Greatest Hits record. That seems about right.

I suppose one could say "Moanin'" by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. Pretty great summation of the talents of the whole band.
