Help identify song
I know this is a major shot in the dark.
I was in a Banana Republic store and heard a song that I loved the sound of. Unfortunately, I couldn't make out a single lyric. Helpful, I know. Here's what I do know:
- It was heavily electronic/dance oriented; lots of keyboards and a good beat.
- Sounded new (not '80s or '90s).
- Female singer(s).
- Had a bit of a Japanese sound to it.
- The main hook was highly reminiscent of the "wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder" part of Del Shannon's "Runaway".
My utmost respect to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

The Naked and Famous came to my mind first as well. My next guess was Icona Pop, but I don't recall anything reminiscent of "Runaway".

I appreciate all the guesses, but none of them are it.
The original song is very bubblegum... not really the type of music I'd normally like. A lot of the guesses in this thread lean toward the dark/edgy/alternative side of things. The song I'm looking for is much more light and airy.

As a suggestion, I had trouble identifying a song for years. I poised the question here, but it was suggested I post a brief recording of me kind of humming or do-do-doing the beat (it was an 80s electronic song so you can understand how it'd be impossible to narrow it down).
Needless to say, I did it, and someone here came through. It was embarrassing but I unearthed an answer to a question I had been asking for 15 or so years.
