Ms. Floor Jansen is a keeper.

Also, we will be a six-piece band from now on, as Mr. Troy Donockley (uilleann pipes, low whistles, vocals) will become a full-time member of NIGHTWISH.

Originally we were going to wait until 2014 to make a decision about the future line-up of the band, but the past year has clearly shown us that Floor and Troy are perfect matching pieces to our puzzle, and we are really grateful of the bond that has grown between all of us. We love you guys.

I'm good with her doing a few albums. Although, I'm not too fond of the recent ReVamp album.

Anyone know if the Blu-ray of Showtime/Storytime is multi-region? I've been asking around and haven't gotten confirmation on it. Their order page has a link to ask product questions, and I've tried a few times with no response.

New Nightwish song. Pretty tame, and they have her moving like Tarja. Hopefully the rest of the album is better.

Not bad, but not very memorable either. I was an Annette fan because her register made Nightwish sound unique, especially when combined with Toumas' vocals. Floor is great but now(based on one song, mind you) they sound like a half dozen other bands out there (Lacuna Coil, Nemesea, Leave's Eyes, Evanescence, etc.)

"Sagan" is a better song, but "Elan" isn't bad. It's just a bit jarring to go back to the basic band after so many years of bombastic symphony orchestra behind the band.

This album also does not have Jukka Nevalainen drumming. I'm a little worried about that.

Damn. Strike 2. The symphony stuff is really what drew me in. I always liked the Tarja stuff, but loved the more bombastic approach. I have no use for another generic female fronted rock band.

:lol: Yeah, the stories were he wanted to get rid of Tarja for awhile but didn't have the guts to do it. Just like any boss, once you fire the first one, it becomes easier to fire people at will.

I just checked itunes. album comes out this month (March 31) and the last song "The Greatest Show on Earth" is 24 minutes long, so maybe they're saving the big epic orchestral stuff for the finale of the album

Blech. Most overrated female singer I have ever heard. I use to really like her but the more I heard, the more I was annoyed. I was lucky to see After Forever live in my city (I never thought theyd even tour America) and the guitarist Sander Gommans is one of the nicest guys Ive ever met, Floor? Complete ****.

I listened to the full album today. Somewhat disappointing. If I had to describe it, I'd say background music. The last (long) song is somewhat interesting, but for the most part this album feels uninspired and tame.

Listened to the full album for the first time today. Not their best, but I like it. Not sure why so many people claim it's so different than the other releases.

Because the orchestra is dialed way down, the guitars are cranked and Emppu is soloing. I posted my thoughts in another thread.

Got a "Floorgasm" watching this version. Man, those South American crowds rock. at the 9:20 - shit gets emotional. Floor nails the vocal amazingly.

When was this filmed? Jukka is on drums and as far as I know he's still getting treatment for chronic insomnia. Plus, Floor has gotten heavily tattooed and her arms are still bare here.

Still, that song is Nightwish's defining track and mere mortals cannot sing it. Anette massacred it when she tried.

And looking back up this thread, it looks like I didn't care for the latest album. That sure has changed, it's still in my frequent playlist. It might help that I've seen them 2 more times since then.

That video is from the tail end of the tour in 2012 when she was still just a fill-in.


Floor is no mere mortal by that video.

The only track, so far, that I like being sung by Annette is Bye Bye Beautiful, which I doubt will be played by the band nowadays.
