Most Overplayed Christmas Songs?
 

That yuletide season will be upon us pretty soon, so I thought this would be a good topic. Which songs of the season do you constantly hear on the radio, to the point it drives you nuts?

For me, the #1 offender has to be "Last Christmas" by George Michael. It seems like every station plays it at least once in a 45-minute block! :mad:

Another one that truly gets on my nerves is "My Only Wish" by Britney Spears. It's the compete antithesis of almost every other song she's done, which is very sad.

The only Christmas song I enjoy is "Merry Xmas (War Is Over)". So, if I hear any Christmas song, and it's not that one, I consider it overplayed.

The only radio station I listen to does not play "Christmas Music" at all. It's a "Classic Rock/AOR" station. What I hear I play myself and typically stick to Classical, Medieval, Renaissance, and other mostly acapella choral selections. If a selection is "overplayed" I have no one to blame but myself. :)

Every single one of them. I don't know why it's so hard to write new Christmas music. Even if an artist releases a new Christmas album, it's always the same songs that have been done to death.

christmas music sucks in general, doesnt matter if its old or new. but i have memories attached to the old stuff i grew up with so i can listen to it and it gets me in the holiday spirit. if i didnt grow up with it i would think it was garbage. and almost everything new i hear is just awful.

All of them. I work retail, and they play them over and over and over and over and over. It's torture. I like Christmas, but I hate the other 30 days in December.

I always dread Xmas time music, because it seems there are about 10 songs that get played 800 times because of numerous covers.

The world doesn't need another cover of White Christmas, Winter Wonderland, etc.

Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmas Time" without question.

I have no problem with the old crooner songs of yesteryear every couple of days but anytime that McCartney song comes on I lose it.

I find that song to be truely awful and it also happens to be overplayed as fuck. The chorus at the end goes on forever.

Yes. I hate this song. So weird and creepy to me.

And honestly, all of them are overplayed and covered to death. The worst year was when I worked at a restaurant and the high-ups had us switch to the station that plays Christmas music...well they decided to the day after Halloween...nearly two months of torture. In an 8-10 hour shift, you'd even hear the same cover of the same overplayed bullshit about four times before leaving.
