Tool - Opiate 21st Anniversary - March 26, 2013 (5000 copies only!)
Tool has released a limited 21st Anniversary re-release of Opiate. It's only available on http://shop.toolarmy.com.
There are 5 "versions," each limited to 1000 copies with different artwork. All copies are signed by the band. All copies are $150.
1 of each 1000 set will contain a "golden ticket" for an as yet undisclosed "prize" from the band.
So, if you're a fan, go order your copy now. It won't last too long...
In other news, their site will absolutely not take orders from Canadian addresses, despite claiming that they do. So if anyone wants to order me a copy and ship it to Canada for me, I'll pay you the full amount (including both shipping charges), and a little extra. I just want one copy... not all 5 variations. PM me if you have a soul.

OPIATE CD package LIMITED to 5000 copies comprising 5 VARIATIONS of 1000 each. All 5000 copies are SIGNED by all four members of Tool. Each package includes a novelty USB card, sticker, window decal, lenticular card, 3D card (for use with existing stereoscopic lenses), and a certificate of authenticity. Each variation contains a different image on the novelty USB card, and a different sticker. Each variation of 1000 contains 1 special "SEAL OF XATANITOS" (as indicated on the certificate), and the receivers of these are entitled to a prize.

I want this but can't justify the price. I just texted my brother and he can so he is getting one. I guess I will just have to envy his.

I'd drop $50 on Opiate, but not an extra $100 on top of that. Maybe for Undertow or Aenima...

Yeah, $150 for some stupid stickers and new artwork is a load of shit.
I love Tool, but at least throw in a live concert disc or some other cool stuff for that price. Or maybe some unreleased tracks from that era.

Yeah, I'd almost get it if it were vinyl, but they're putting a premium on it, because it's signed by the band and that "golden ticket" bonus.

It's a collectable. I would have preferred vinyl over CD, but I'm still happy with the decision to get it. When it comes to Nine Inch Nails or Tool, I'm a sucker for anything "deluxe" or "limited," and I'm okay with that. What I find strange, and it actually kind of makes me think this whole re-release is stupid... is that the set was signed by Maynard, Adam, Danny, and... Justin. Justin had absolutely nothing to do with Opiate, as he wasn't in the band when those songs were written or released. Now, if they re-recorded those songs for a second disc and included it in the set... that would make sense. But nope. I'm sure they could have contacted Paul D'Amour. He's got to be getting a cut of the profits from this thing... so why not get him to sign it? Seems weird... but I'm trying not to think about that too much...

This is pretty cool but that price is too high. It would be much cooler, as others have said, if it were an LP with a CD with the deluxe packaging and goodies; then maybe you could get away with charging $75 but $150 for a single CD is crazy.
