Daft Punk. New Album. May 21st.

Yes — the wait is almost over! iTunes is now accepting pre-orders for perhaps the most anticipated album in recent memory. The followup to 2005′s Human After All is titled Random Access Memories and will be released through Columbia Records imprint Daft Life Limited. That’s the album’s artwork up above.

According to iTunes, the album comprises 13 tracks, though specific track titles have yet to be revealed. Recently, Columbia registered the album for licensing in the UK, revealing each track’s length (as you can see below).

A number of musicians have reportedly contributed to the new album, including Chic frontman Nile Rodgers, songwriter Paul Williams, Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, Feist collaborator Chilly Gonzales, and disco legend Giorgio Moroder.

I think the extent of their work together is him talking about different eras of his work through same era microphones. Hopefully there's more than just that.

This is a pretty good mix of that snippet, lots of filter cutoff work, EQ, and panning but it's all well-executed.

That price is steep, but at least it's a double LP on 180 gram vinyl. It also comes with a LP sized booklet and a free digital download of the album.

I'm thinking it'll go to about $24-$26 kind of like how the David Bowie one was at $26 and now it's at almost $32. Something like that.
