I was a bigger fan of Vol 1 than 2, but still looking forward to this. In the time since, i have become a little more familiar with M. Ward, so feel like i could appreciate and understand their collaboration a little better.

she still completely sends me, whenever i hear her singing in Elf.

I haven't spent a lot of time listening to Volume 1, but I've listened to Volume 2 a lot, as well as the Christmas album. I really do enjoy their work, so I'll be buying this when it comes out.

I was heavily disappointed by the Christmas album, thought it was fairly mediocre compared to their other albums. M Ward's last solo album was great, though.

I like this group and am definitely going to pick this up.

It isn't necessarily my favorite of their albums but it's just a Christmas album. I don't really look at it the same as I would their other material. More like a companion piece.

Great news. I loved Volume 1. When I first heard Volume 2, I didn't really care for it, but it ended up really growing on me. I still don't like it as much as Volume 1, though. Regardless, I will be all over this when it comes out.

I'm in. Loved V1 & V2.

Is Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me the only cover there?

She & Him, the alt-folk duo of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, will release its third non-holiday full-length, "Volume 3," on May 7 through Merge Records. Shortly after, Deschanel and Ward will embark on a tour of North America, beginning on June 14 in Nashville.

Produced by Ward and recorded in New York, Portland and Los Angeles, "Volume 3" will include 11 original tracks penned by Deschanel and three covers, including a new take on Mel Carter's "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me." Mike Watt, Tilly and the Wall, Rilo Kiley's Pierre de Reeder and DeVotchka's Tom Hagerman will make guest appearances on the LP.

She & Him's "Volume Two" has sold 254,000 copies since its 2010 release according to Nielsen SoundScan, but the duo's best-seller remains "A Very She & Him Christmas," which has moved a whopping 354,000 units since 2011. Since its 2008 debut on Merge (titled -- you guessed it -- "Volume One"), She & Him has sold over 900,000 copies of its three full-lengths, according to SoundScan.

In between albums, Deschanel has stayed busy starring in the Fox sitcom "New Girl," while Ward released his seventh solo album, "A Wasteland Companion," last April.

Here are She & Him's upcoming tour dates:

Jun 13: Nashville, TN (Ryman Auditorium)

Might go to their show in Council Bluffs on June 27th. Depends how much I like the new album.

Love She & Him, but really disappointed with their Christmas album as well. Definitely going to pick this up, as I enjoyed their first two releases (albeit the first moreso than the second).

I never did meet a Christmas album I liked. I liked the first two "real" albums so I'm in for V3.

was going to post this. I have listened to the whole thing a few times now, and at first i thought it was kinda the same as before. "this is kinda like vol 2, what is even the point?"

it is starting to really grow on me. her voice fooled me into thinking it was a rehash, but over repeated listens, i am hearing different moods and feelings. what i initially wrote off as an extended cotton commercial is worth looking into for those that liked vols 1 and 2.

i am pretty sure i will be buying it eventually.

Gotta admit, not feeling this album at this point. It might grow on me, but for the first couple of listens, I am dissappointed.

I was thinking the same. I have heard that they aren't anything special live though.

Based on my first listen I'd say this is my favourite of the 3 volumes.

If you're signed up for Amazon Local, check your vouchers. In my inbox this morning was one to download this album for $4.99.

This is a really good album if you ask me. Probably my favorite of their albums thus far (although I haven't listed to Volume 1 in quite a while and actually still need to pick a copy up). Tickets to their shows are fairly cheap and I already have June 27th off from work anyways so I think I might go to their concert in Council Bluffs.

I didn't want to make a new thread for this yet since nothing is officially announced but it appears as though we may be getting a new She & Him album this Fall. I love this band and am pretty excited about a new album. I really liked Volume 3 a lot so hopefully the new album will be as good. I also wouldn't mind seeing them on tour if they come anywhere near me.
