Deftones - Koi No Yokan - 11/13/2012

So this album came out today. :) It's the only release this week that I was truly excited for (I'm cautiously optimistic about Soundgarden, and my expectations for Green Day were very low).

Personally, I think it's pretty great.

Not to talk to much shit but I was going to start a thread on this as well but most here are just simply not into good music of this type.....lot of mainstream folks here.

I love it (bought it on disc) and can't stop listening to Leathers.....the lyrics to that song make you feel like you can take on the world.

Great album...definitely their most diverse to date IMO.

Haven't gotten it from Amazon yet, but looking forward to it. Diamond Eyes was fucking incredible.

I like Around the Fur and loved The White Pony. But then I kind of lost interest in the band.

I may give them another try.

albums amazing.

Reading the allmusic review, and seeing them mention shoegaze...i mean this album in particular almost feels like a metal offshoot of shoegaze. Its beautiful.

Leathers is great, but Tempest could possibly be one of my favourite songs they've ever written. Everything about that song is great.

I'm almost done with a first listen. OK, I admit, i fucking love it.

Reminds me of the best of the old Deftones.

Just to chime in with everyone else that this one is really good. Much better than the new Soundgarden IMO.

I don't know how they do it, but these guys just keep on getting better with each new release.

Chino is really on a hot streak, with this, Team Sleep, Crosses, and the upcoming Palms side project (with Isis... can't wait for that one). And to think, a decade ago he seemed jealous of the success Korn was enjoying. My, how those tables have turned.

I had no idea Crosses was Chino. I avoided them because I thought the band name was dumb. I also had no idea about Palms, but knowing it's with ISIS members... I can't wait!

Korn had the mainstream popularity, but Deftones has the lasting career.

Really digging Graphic Nature - it's prob one of the songs you won't hear much about on this album but it really gets into your head.

Goon Squad is pretty damn good as well.

This album goes by quick but it really is great to listen to.

It's fantastic. This CD really grows on you. Saw them in concert in Vegas a few weeks ago and they were awesome as always.

Yep. I saw them last week in L.A. They did a cover of Joe Jackson's "Street Walkin'"; Chino was in top form.

Got tickets from a friend to see them in Atlanta on St. Patty's Day! Love the new album and love seeing them live can't wait!

I honestly have to say there is one track on this disc that just irks the living shit out of me and that song is "Poltergeist" I think it's terrible especially when Chino bursts out with "Drives me wiiiiiiiiild" all around can't stand it sounds like something they would have come out with even before adrenaline.

Not bashing them I still love this disc but now that I have listened to this beast a million times over....that song has always made me sick since the first time I've heard it.

I agree. Everything after White Pony only had maybe 1-3 songs I liked on each album. Swerve City is awesome.
