Re: The all things METALLICA thread!
Yeah. If they fix the bass this would be the first of these remasters I pick up. IMO the previous CD releases of the other albums sound just fine.
|
Re: The all things METALLICA thread!
From everything I have read, they aren't interested in a remix so not sure if a remaster will help the bass.
|
Re: The all things METALLICA thread!
I thought both the lack of bass mix, and the bad original master, world both be addressed. If not, I'll skip this one as I have the others.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!
I'd buy the LP if it was remixed with proper bass. If not, I'll pass.
AJFA sounds like shit on a decent stereo set-up. I didn't notice it so much when I was thirteen and bladting on a shitty ghetto blaster with midrange speakers, but now that I have a good set-up it's nearly unlistenable. Otherwise, it's a very good albm, |
Re: The all things METALLICA thread!
Metallica Won't Remix 'And Justice for All' for 30th Anniversary
According to ...And Justice for All mixer Steve Thompson, Metallica don't have plans to remix the album which was infamously bereft of Jason Newsted's bass. He broke the news on the Talk Toomey podcast, explaining, “I just contributed to the anniversary album of …And Justice [for All]. I just sent them a bunch of pictures and some outtakes, but they have no desire to remix the record. They want to keep it the way it is. They might remaster it or something like that, but there is only so much mastering you can do. And I’ll tell you the truth, I don’t even know if those original multi-tracks could be saved. Because there are like 5 million edits in them from Lars‘ drums alone. So if you have the box and open it up there probably be about 50 million pieces of tape all over the place.” |

They couldn't throw in the couple of B-sides in the CD package?

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!
I hate when they do this. So if you want all the extras, you have to buy the vinyl version.

Re: The all things METALLICA thread!
It's crazy how many people Metallica were packing into shows by the time of the Justice tour. No radio or MTV play whatsoever, just word of mouth and non stop touring. And they were playing arenas.
