Re: Your One Favorite Song?
A great tune. Thirty years on the hairs on the back of my neck still prick up when I hear the guitars kick into gear behind the intro.
In that vein, I'm going to choose Gang of Four's "I Found That Essence Rare" as my favorite song that is defensible from all ridicule.*
* Even though my real favorite has and probably always will be Gary Numan's "Cars," which is legitimately subject to ridicule and such.

Chrissy Amphlett was and is unfuckingbelievable. Some of the noises she makes in that particular performance sound like they came straight out of Hell. Such an intense, fantastic song that has unjustly been forgotten.

Reminds me of Christmas, reminds me of Ireland, reminds me of past experiences, reminds me how great music can be.

I always thought this was the perfect song. If I could only listen to one song for the rest of my life I don't think I'd ever get tired of it.
