For shows in your area, you just need to get on the right email lists. Ticketmaster, Live Nation, venues in your area, radio stations, etc.

I get emailed the presale passwords for almost everything in my area.

I heard that Rihanna's presale code is... "rihanna"

I've had no luck getting good seats with presale codes, so I think it is still rigged. There was an article about some russian mob that hacks into the ticketmaster site and snaps up all of the good seats before anyone can get an order in.

^I got emailed a presale password for a show one time that was "presale" :)
